Take a look at student freebies for tomorrow....maybe the surprise is banana yellow unis

It's really astonishing how tone deaf this university is at times. You can't even blame one or two dense fools like the Killer Bs or something like that ... this has been so long and so many people have come and gone. Just writing 'SMH' isn't doing it justice...

What if they are just pulling a 'gotcha' and come out in the 'retros'...

...that'd be cool.

Then I'll richly applaud... but that stunt is always suggested as a possibility when it becomes painfully aware that they are going to screw up (again)...and it never has yet occurred.

After all these years, it simply just seems common sense is beyond them.

So they tell the fans to wear royal, give the students yellow shirts and the team is wearing Navy.

The most stupid people in this culture reside in our universities and Pitt is up there with the worst.

I don't think the royal thing was Pitt.

Blue and gold/yellow works for me.... heck I wear a white shirt and black pants..

Agree.
And even if it wasn’t Pitt putting the tweet out for yellow, why not use the zoo guys for social media advertising to get them to wear yellow. Why wasn’t it known before the season started and printed on tickets? How hard is it to coordinate a theme for games? Why must Pitt wait till the day before the game to announce this shit and send people scrambling?

Many years ago the Notre Dame team warmed up in navy and then came out of the locker room in green jerseys. It’s been done before.

We did this against Louisville in palkos last game.. least think was his last game. Warm ups was navy jerseys came out wearing them all gold duds.

Maybe the admin pushed for the retros and made all the preparations for them, like these giveaways, but the team vetoed it? Doubt it, but just trying to think of some reason for the issue.

So they're going to have the students dressed in the color of an empty Heinz Field seat?
They certainly seem Twisted, Twisted.

Check out @Pitt_ATHLETICS’s Tweet:
Looks like the yummies in the Pitt Ath Department ordered those from WVU

Lol the towels will be one shade of blue , the teams jersey will probably be periwinkle and the university’s actual colors something else....Navy and old gold
SURPRISE, they have produced 35 yrs of mediocrity....

I've never seen a fan base that bitches about free stuff given to students and seems to be comprised of an unlimited number of Mr. Blackwell type fashion critics. LMAO. It's like "Project Runway, Pitt edition" Odd to say the least.

My contribution is to say at least it's not Dinocat or Sealcat.

Yes fans wear Royal, a color that hasn't been massed produced since 1996, as Navy is the color most gear is in for the past 22 years. Only recently, some and I mean very little gear in that color is available.

The sad part is I bet the discussion went like this.

Friday at the 11th hour

Person 1: we have more Pitt fans at the game than PSU but people think there will be more PSU fans. How do we show there are more Pitt fans?

Person 2: lets tell our fans to wear Royal Blue.

Person 1: excellent idea send a quick tweet.

My goodness these are the people in charge.

Well, if the colors don't matter, who cares about which cartoon cat we use either?

Obviously it doesn't hardly matter about the colors, logos, uniforms etc. But it's a highly visible look into the suspected inner workings of the finely tuned machine that produces 40 years of mediocrity.

The student section is gonna look pretty sweet wearing these. I know not everyone likes the royal, but the royal blue shirts and the gold seats could match the retro uniforms perfectly and give Heinz Field more of a "Pitt feel" that some fans want.

Against USC

Warmed up in blue came out for the start of the game in green
