Tennessee

Almost just seemed like some weird fate. Alabama throwing three incompletions in a row, that safety doing goodness knows what on that last past by Tennessee, and a field goal that looked that Tim Wakefield kicked it with his left foot.

No, that just shows that we gave up less YPP against Tennessee. It doesn't show that we have a better defense than Alabama. Did San Jose State, Buffalo, Ball State, Eastern Michigan, etc. have better defenses than we did last year? They had to by this logic, right? They did better against Western Michigan, after all.

Tenn fans disagree.

Pitt beat Tennessee on the field, but Pitt lost the game to Pitt on the scoreboard by missing two field goals and dropping a TD pass into the arms of a defender. Tennessee will be racked number 3 in the country tomorrow and Pitt will remain unranked. The deference between great and good is focus and desire to win against all and all teams. When will we develop that edge?

Alabama should not have tried that kick for the win. Punt and go to OT. when you saw that special teams player try to pick up the ball and give it away to UT you knew they were on the side of bad luck for the night. Or it could have been the near 20 penalties they had along with dumb decisions.

They should have ran the ball and force UT to burn their timeouts & leave almost no time on the clock when attempting the FG.

Not only that but Tennessee had key players out late in that game and I wouldn’t have liked their chances in OT, just as our chances against them in OT were slim because of our injuries. Saban should have extended that game. He would have won.

This is the correct answer. It's on Saban for mismanaging the clock at the end of the game. You never leave time on clock and TOs in that position.
