Blue helmet looked better live than the tweets, IMO. It looked sharp with the whites. The best uniform of the night was the back design of the wrestling singlet. Big cathedral image with H2P at the bottom.

It was mentioned that the combinations may be mixed up... Blue or gold pants could be worn with white jerseys at times.
I hope the pants look good, because they look like shit. I hope they can change them again next year.
Yeah... It's minor but no stripe on the pants bummed me out a bit. I actually think last season's football jerseys are better. Might as well kept them same and just added a blue helmet. All other jerseys, especially men's hoops, improved. Why only the goofy numbers for football? I mean, I'm glad, but that's odd, no?
They took Ohio State old jersey changed the colors and put new numbers. Took stock pants and called it a day. The only thing unique is the numbers. I don't know why they claimed it could not be ready for last year.
Agreed. Too bad they didn't take the tOSU pants design too though. Be sweet to see that variation of blue, gold and white.

This is the biggest reason to update. If it even sways one top player it is worth it.
However, I definitely don't like the numbering or the plain pants and wish they would have used the Pitt unique mustard and royal blue, but certainly they are improved. More than anything I personally want some decent clothing options for adults. The button down and polo options are just terrible. That is the thing that stops me most from wearing Pitt gear.
Mustard and Royal just don't look as good on adult clothing....and I own some stuff in those colors...but the true school colors which are what we see now just plain look better on hats shirts etc...hands down....but I think much steelers clothing looks like Ronald McDonald too...so who cares what I think?

I think the football uniforms are a pretty big downgrade from what they had.
No pants stripe and the double outline of numbers (number color - jersey color outline - different color outline) looks ridiculous. Should've kept the pants stripe and just had the outline color on numbers, no jersey color in between.

Our true school colors are navy and old gold, as my Pitt logo on the left shows. That would look best on adult clothing.
It's interesting to see the wide range of comments, pro and con. At the end of the day, or in the grand scheme of things (choose one), the uniform design is relatively meaningless, but in the spirit of debating how many angels can dance on the head of a pin, here's my two cents: On the positive side, I like the shoulder stripes. On the negative side I abhor, and have always abhorred, the all-white uniforms. It looks like they are playing in long underwear. Removing the legging stripe makes it look even more so. It would look much better if they used the gold pants with the white jerseys. Yes, I know, some of you have said you don't like the gold pants. But they go a long way to break up the underwear look. Also, the numerals look, well, goofy, -- almost cartoonish -- on the football uniforms. And the numeral design disappears on the white jerseys. For some reason, the basketball unis look much better, maybe because they have a stripe.
I think they're going to mix and match the uniform pants and helmets (using the blue shirts at home and white ones away). They won't necessarily stick to just the combos that were rolled out yesterday. Especially after reading PN's comment that they "can't wear the same thing every week." He went on to say that the player's leadership council and the team would have input into what they would wear for a particular game.
Then there will also be the throwbacks, to be introduced later in the summer. So there ought to be plenty of options and combinations.
Given their choice last season, it wouldn't surprise me if Pitt wears blue pants, blue shirt and blue helmet more than any other pairing at home. They seemed to like those last season. As I've said before, after seeing the video on Narduzzi's Twitter, the ALL blue pants, jersey, helmet is far and away the best combo. I want that v. Penn State. Save the throwbacks for a Thursday night game or homecoming.
Yeah, I mean, I like it. A little darker shade than I prefer but I honestly believe that'll become the helmet Pitt wears almost every week. It'll be preferred by players, show better on TV and the mismatched gold isn't as jarring in the numbers/pants as it is with a gold helmet. I maybe would've not gone matte but, even still...-You would have to be an idiot to not like this helmet. That is all. Absolute Boss Helmet.

I think the shiny, non-matte sticker looks weird on the matte helmets. Especially when the border is the same color as the matte. I think just not having the final blue border around Pitt would make it look much, much better.
