How good a prospect is he? A junior at Frazier HS in Perryopolis, he won the PIAAs as a sophomore for a school that only had a wrestling team for 2 years. In his freshman year, the team only had 3 wrestlers and as a sophomore it had 10, so he probably doesn’t get much challenge in practice. He was ranked as high as #8 at 160 by Intermat, but has dropped to #13 in the latest rankings.

Is Pitt recruiting him? I would think he must be very raw but with a big upside.

No, he’s always been at Frazier. He’s trained at Quest and All American (Waller). He’s always been a good wrestler, but more of a late bloomer. He works extremely hard. By the sounds of it, he’s interested in wrestling out west, but that’s not a guarantee. From what I was told he likes the outdoors (hunting / fishing).

He certainly is doing it without much help in the HS wrestling room. The story I read said there only were 3 wrestlers on the team his frosh year and 10 last year. I assume they don’t wrestle any dual meets. There are, what, 17 weight classes in HS? They would be down a ton of points before they wrestled a bout.
