this year is like nothing I have ever seen. And.....the job openings will keep coming....when guys like Fedora and maybe Jimbo make moves and Richt may go.

An extraordinary number of moves and we arent even through November.

Pitt fans need to pause for a moment and consider what would happen if Pitt was looking for a coach THIS season, instead of last. There is no chance Pitt gets their first, second or even third choice.

The timing of the Narduzzi hire....a local 2017 class that appears to be loaded are things that Pitt can not control and yet they have come up positive for Pitt. I dont know about you, but I believe in karma.

Im starting to think the last several years of coaching upheaval and Pederson were worth the events that have turned our way.

It is much better that we were looking for a coach last season instead of this one.

A lot of GOOD programs are going to have trouble landing any of their top 3 choices for coach this year.

I wonder if this will become the wave of the future - i.e., firing the coach before the season is over. It it crazy stuff.

We certainly won the new-head-coaches lottery from last year. What worries me is that with all the openings Coach Conklin is going to look appealing despite his youth - hope it's too soon for him to leave Coach Duzz's staff.

Go Pitt.

Coordinators leaving for HC jobs elsewhere is a *VERY* good sign for a program.

It will only help in recruiting the NEXT good coordinators.... when they know it is a way to get noticed and get HC jobs.

Dantonio was not upset at all when Narduzzi left for Pitt. It's a GOOD reflection on Dantonio.

We are thinking of the coaching upheaval and the uncertainty and trickle down effect within the coaching fraternity both from Head coaches to coordinators.

How about what it is going to do to recruiting, as if some more of these higher profile schools jobs open up, then open season on their recruits. Because of so many programs in shuffle, a lot of coaching hires won't be until later on.

IF your program survives (Pitt) without having to make a coaching change, then you are also in a position to possibly poach a recruit or two that you would have never thought to be available. Because there will be the same trickle down with say, the Alabamas, Ohio States, Michigans, etc..going after maybe Miami, LSU, Georgia (who knows Texas), USC recruits, and then maybe kids they were involved with (uncommitted) become lesser of a priority putting them more into play for the Pitt's of the world.

Interesting next two months or so for sure.

If coaches are getting plucked after one year......from a HC in his first year......

Then Narduzzi is going to have quite an impressive coaching tree years from now.

And....it seems to me the larger the coaching tree....the more success the original HC has had in his career.

New era for Pitt Football.

Pitt must be proactive and do everything possible to make sure Narduzzi is happy at Pitt.
A lot of these top tier HC's aren't young guys and some have had health issues in the past ( Meyer, Dantonio, etc.)

Barnes and Gallagher simply need to say: "what do you want" and then give it to him. Money, facilities upgrades, a private jet, whatever.

Conklin could be in the mix but I doubt it's for a big job, so I I think he stays a few years. Narduzzi showed him the way -- make your mark over a few successful seasons as a DC at one place, and you'll be in a position to select a p5 job where you think you'll be successful. Right now, with so little experience, I think he'd be a candidate to backfill a job vacated by the guys taking the P5 jobs. Better for him to have a successful run at Pitt for a few years instead.
