The regular season is over and it's clear that this staff has no clue with what to do with this defensive unit. I have never seen a back 7 that was slower, had less FB intelligence and tackles worse than Pitt's back 7. They are the most fundamentally poor defensive unit I have ever seen. Add in the fact that other than Price we don't have a single DL who is a pass rusher and you have a collective mess . And that's exactly what we have on D a collective disorganized mess.
Honestly, it's scheme.
These kids aren't that bad... good enough to beat Clemson and penn state.. two teams who will likely play for conference championships
What's your explanation for the way that scheme worked at MSU while Narduzzi was there,and the way it's been working the last several years at OSU?

The scheme isn't working at Michigan state right now and Ohio state literally gets the best athletes in the country. So it might be more of top talent than scheme.
One can only hope that new players will help. Coach has a positive track record on d, these guys must be killing him the way artis, jeter and young killed Dixon. Hcpn will figure it out.
I am just disturbed at our defensive staff because no matter what scheme you prefer you have to adapt given what you are seeing on the field . Today like the games against VT, UNC and OSU, I saw a staff that had no answers whatsoever to what was happening on the field... That's a huge problem. We did the same thing for 4 quarters and stunk for 4 quarters
