The HOT seat

"Year after year..the same"...This was the first year that Pat Narduzzi changed thongs up and brought in an OC from the 21st century. Give Kade Bell some time to get the proper type of players into the Pitt program to run that offense and it will pay off in a big way. In case you haven't figured it out yet, Pat Narduzzi is not the problem with the Pitt football program.
If you could get one of the big named coaches (Ryan Day, Nick Saban, Kalen DeBoer, etc...) they will not do any better then Pat Narduzzi has. Until the University of Pittsburgh decides to make the football program the #1 priority of the Athletic Department, expect the same results.
I disagree with you about Nick Saban. I can tell you one thing, he would’ve gone for the TD and not a FG in overtime against Toledo… Coaches like Saban are very few and far between. He’s an elite coach that Pitt could never afford. He can take a team with 6–7-win talent and get them 9-10 wins.

As for Ryan Day, I agree with you IMHO. Take away his elite players and the administration’s drive for excellence, and he’s a 7–8-win coach. Not impressed with his game day coaching and preparation.

Kalen DeBoar is already on the hot seat at Alabama according to the SEC Network. I don’t know what to make of him yet.

Same can be said for Baltimore. People wanted him fired a few years ago.

Point being, change for the sake of change isn’t always the right answers and not doing it isn’t defeatist.

Sometimes it’s the right choice sometimes it’s not
They wanted him fired and he replaced his aging QB with Lamar and changed the offense.

Unironically, I could see him finishing his coaching career at Youngstown State after he’s done at Pitt, whether that’s after 2025 or some other time. I think it’d mean a lot to him to take his father’s program to the playoffs a few times.

I could see Rhode Island

Narduzzi isn't earning the 67th highest salary.
So Texas Tech's coach should be the 2nd highest paid coach?

And Kirby Smart should not be paid since he is dead last (tied) in rankings?

He a part time starter?

Fla State has the 7th ranked transfer class we are 67th. Do you see a difference there?
So now you’re saying Pitt has as much money as FSU?????!!! You’re getting crazier by the minute! Wake up and get out of this dream world you live in….

I said either of those things?
You have lost all sense of reality. Get a grip. Pitt is currently NOT in the same league with the likes of FSU, OSU, ND, etc in any way shape or form as far as revenue, NIL or recruiting.

Accept that and you’ll sleep better. If you can’t then support another team…

Go back and read the thread. You're the first one to compare FSU and Pitt, not me.

I slept fine last night.

Yes, read it again. Of course you missed the whole point of the post. You ripped on Pitt for signing a OL from Richmond. Yet FSU lands a player from Coastal Carolina... I pointed out that every school, including elite programs go after players that are not FCS.

Then you come up with this gem....

"Fla State has the 7th ranked transfer class we are 67th. Do you see a difference there?" - bobfree
Sounds like a direct comparison to me...

Again. You have trouble reading and comprehending. I didn't say I didn't make a comparison. I said I wasn't the first.

I'm talking about Pitt and its football program you're talking about me. How im in a dream world etc. grow the **** up.

I don't care where we get players from as long as they are good. I'd rather not get part time starters from lower rated programs however.

You don't like my posts, I guess I'll have to live with that. But read what I write and understand it or don't comment on it.

I pointed out that if it’s good enough for FSU from to sign non FCS players it should be good enough for Pitt. I could have used several other teams, but I chose FSU for example. You made the DIRECT comparison. So don’t

If you want to get technical, I never said to grow the **** up. Talk about reading comprehension. I said you live in a dream world and you need to get a grip on reality. Your expectations under the current climate is not realistic. Venting is one think, constantly beating the drum of negativity is another.

I don't care where we get players from as long as they are good. I'd rather not get part time starters from lower rated programs however. - I agree. But let’s give them a chance instead of automatically going into sarcasm mode.

Actually I do like your posts when you have something to say. But lately it’s been tough to read with all the cynicism. Relax…… I’m frustrated too, but not about everything….

I told you to grow up. Notice the period after Etc?

By bringing up Florida State you did compare them. This is elementary type material.

I was making a point about firing Narduzzi which it was brought up in this thread, why we can't, and that was my rebuttal why we can.

Focus less on what I'm saying, I'm not the problem. Every time you don't like something I post, donate $20.

Right… I got a better idea If you donated $20 every time you spouted off something sarcastic, childish, irreverent and just plain dumb, I’d be rich in no time…. Grow up? You’re a petulant child….Heal thy self, junior.

Name calling? You're struggling today lol.

I would like to give it a shot instead of assuming that it can't get better. That's a defeatist scared arse attitude.

No. It's just reality.

Of course it can get better. But in order for it to get better, you have to address the real underlying issue.

The issue at Pitt is talent acquisition. An infusion of a shit load of NIL money is the only program solution. You can find one year outliers like C Cigs & Kenny Dillingham. The problem there is that they haven't really improved their program in any way that is sustainable. The loss of Scattabo will return ASU to mediocrity. Cigs was able to cash in on JMU transfers combined with a ridiculous easy schedule. Next year, both programs slide back to mediocrity.

BTW, As for high school recruiting, Pitt's class averages 3.05 stars, exactly the same as ASU & IU. There is nothing wrong with Pitt's HS recruiting.

So yeah, Pitt absolutely can do better. It's just comical to think a coaching change is actually going to make any meaningful positive impact. The only thing a coaching change would help us the mood of a few fans in the here and now. ....Then the feel good wears off after 2 or 3 seasons that produces no significant improvement, and no significant increase in talent. ... That's not to suggest Narduzzi is great or can't be replaced. He most certainly can be. It's just to suggest that until Pitt and their monied boosters fix he talent pipeline, Pitt will continue to be mediocre. That ball is 100% in their court

tOSU, Oregon, UGA, Bama, Texas etc can hire any damn fool they want as coach, the talent will still come in droves. Pitt was like that to from 1973-1989. They chose to opt out of that game.

This is the point of view that makes the most sense to me. All about the dolla bills.
