Since the Dixon era .Sad that so few attended. This season may be fun . Bub is as smooth as Mr Jimmy Beam
I agree. For some reason watching the first game is always memorable. And even in the past few years there have been segments of the game where you knew we might struggle against better teams but we had some polish. Last night was a game where we never really looked bad. Our expectation should be the Tourney. IMHO the last fresh point guard To look this good was Levance.Since the Dixon era .Sad that so few attended. This season may be fun . Bub is as smooth as Mr Jimmy Beam
Hence the importance of illusion of camera angles facing the zoo. Looked good energy on tv from the zoo. Rather than empty seats.
Pretty sure that most arenas are empty for these game nationwide. The attendance trend is declining.
Build it and they will come.Yea, nobody goes to these games anywhere but its concerning that we have sold so few season tickets. As I said yesterday, the upper deck endzone is only $290 and we haven't sold many. I think those were $200 when the place opened. That's an absolute steal. Pitt has always done a horrible job at marketing basketball. I am pretty sure they haven't advertised for season tickets once at the football games. In contrast, there are billboard ads on the highways for Pitt/Lou volleyball. An ad that says you get Duke, UNC, Syr, and like 15 other games for $290, that opens eyes.

Sadly this years ACC schedule isn’t built like last year. We had good Saturday afternoon opponents in Jan and Feb and those atmospheres were like the old days. We don’t have a Saturday afternoon game this year until Feb vs a bad ND team.
We went to the Round of 32 last year, 14-6 in the ACC and were playing for the ACC Championship on the last possession of the regular season. There has to be more than 100 people out of the 2 million in the local area who wouldn't mind spending $290 to see a decent Pitt team play Duke, UNC and others. How have they marketed this team? They should have gone balls out. They haven't marketed it at all and honestly I thought the place was nearly sold out as I posted this summer and fall because of the games they played with the seating map. That's why I thought they weren't marketing it. There should have been 8 tables throughout Acrisure with interns selling tickets and handing out flyers at Acrisure. Heck, do a Capel meet and greet and hand out some info. Maybe Gabel didnt allow any basketball marketing. I heard she is now digging into Carrington's middle school days.
Credit to Capel on that one, no? They flipped things at his suggestion, IIRC.And it took Pitt 20 years to realize you need fans on TV instead of empty luxury boxes. Hopefully in the next 20 years, they will realize that you shouldn't have empty ticket-broker owned seats in the TV view at Acrisure. This would require moving Pitt to the other side so the real Pitt fans move over there and are on the TV side. The broker-seats which go empty or are bought by visiting fans can be on the other side.

Or move the cameras … it’s ridiculous they don’t face the home side at AcrisureAnd it took Pitt 20 years to realize you need fans on TV instead of empty luxury boxes.
