The Narduzzi Contract

Lol, where to even begin with this.

1. Stability - this is an adjective people use when there really isn't anything all that appealing to say about a coach. It's like a realtor saying a house has potential. Everybody knows what you're saying. Who cares about stability? I want results. Narduzzi was 8-4 and 8-4 in history first two seasons here. In his most two recent he'll be 3-9 and 7-5. Tell me more about this "stability." If anything it's time to experience the recruiting bump that comes with bringing in a new coach.

2. What a sanctimonious take to act like we couldn't do any better with anyone else. Like, that's borderline insane. You'd have told me Syracuse couldn't do any better than Dino Babers if you were a fan of them. Nope, after Dino averaging 5 wins for 8 years, they're going to win 8 or 9 this season. You'd have told me Kansas couldn't make a bowl again before Leipold got there. You'd have told me there's no way 1-11 Colorado could go 8-3 in year two of a new coach's tenure. Do you want 1,000 more examples? Ever hear of a school called Indiana?

Guess what we're also proving? Stability doesn't mean a damn thing. Ask Wake Forest how they're enjoying years 10 and 11 of Dave Clawson.

To say that people don't understand that Narduzzi is the best we can do... get out of here with that defeatist nonsense.
You must be living in a dream world. I don't know who you think that the University of Pittsburgh could get right now to lead their football team that is a better package then Pat Narduzzi. Do you think that any of the top tier of college coaches would leave their current program to come to Pitt? None of them would, NOT ONE OF THEM! Narduzzi is a solid human being, a good coach who has gotten several players (especially at the CB/DB positions) to the NFL who have become stars and he has brought the word that seems to have set you off "STABILITY" to the Pitt program. Until the University of Pittsburgh decides it is time to step up financially and join the elite teams at the FBS level, they will be the team that we have all seen for years here. Instead of putting the man and his accomplishments down, you should be thankful that that as a Pitt fan, the man has integrity and has become a proud HC of the Pitt football program.

I nominate this for the worst post ever.

What happens to NIL if Narduzzi stays?

What will season ticket sales look like?

Recruiting?

Its year 10. Its unacceptable

And, if Pitt agreed to victory heights...
knowing they would have to finance over 200 million ( which they knew)

Then Pitt would also consider a buyout of narduzzi.

Its time.....

They just don’t have the talent to compete - and it’s not going to get better with NIL and transfer portal. You’re going to have to have a coaching staff that can be creative. Not MS Dos but AI.

Well let's get a few more 5'5" receivers and just see what happens.

Pitt just can't afford to fire Narduzzi. If they could, he likely wouldn't have been hired at all.

Our best option is that a bunch of good conferences grab the top ACC brands and the scrubs like Pitt are left in limbo.

Pitt can only rebuild by blowing everything up and starting over. It might be best to try and be a big fish in a small pond.

Pitt has no shot at playoff berths or legitimate accomplishments. We only won 1 championship as one of the worst champions in one of the worst seasons in one of the worst conferences.

We may as well join up with other peer programs in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic, build a cheap 30K on-campus stadium and try to be a Boise State of the East or something like that.

You don’t have to fire him…make him quit. Find a HC in waiting and tell Narduzzi you just scribble notes on your pads Treat him like a mushroom.

Assuming you're serious, what kind of coach do you think you could get to languish in such a situation for a year or 2?

Totally agree. No one thinks Narduzzi is worth even half of what he's getting paid. Dump him. He has to go.

Again, what top coach is going to want to come to Pitt and try to develop a program with the limitations that are in place by a school that doesn't prioritize football as the #1 sport for the athletic department? Do you think that there are any HC's of the elite football teams who want to come here? I doubt it.

Why does it always have to be the most extreme example? No one is saying an elite coach will come here. How about one who isn't just collecting a massive paycheck while sucking up the joint?

I’ve never been a big PN guy , but unless Pitt gets huge infusions of cash expectations need to be adjusted to the reality that Pitt football is at best 7 or 8 win team .

Hope the new AD has a little of Captain Ahab in him .

there will be many applicants for a p5 job paying at least 4 million per year. Will it be a sitting p4 coach? No chance. Probably the coordinator route again, but hopefully not the B10. You have to roll the dice, chances are the new person would not do worse than Narduzzi.

Go sit in the corner and cry…. Let’s just give up FB

Hackett, Majors 2, Haywood, Graham.

How quickly they forget.

Hackett, JM2 happened during the worse administration Pitt has seen in my lifetime. Graham, for how bad of a fit he was, still turned in a 6-6 season. Narduzzi, in year 9, produced the worse season the program has seen in over 20 years.

I lived through all of this and am willing to roll the dice again if next produces another 7-5 season.

Rolling the dice is exactly what you would be doing. The house always has the odds in their favor.

The obvious answer here is Mike Shanahan. Young guy. Really cheap. Maybe he can recruit the WPIAL and for those that say that doesn't matter, you cant lose literally every single player. There's some good ones.
