Through three games, Pitt stands at 2-0 after a wild and rare result in their first contest. After slipping and sliding to a 37-35 lead in the first 20 minutes against then-No. 9 Gonzaga, the game was called due to unsafe conditions.

While it was unfortunate for both teams, it really hurt Pitt, since the Panthers did not reap the RPI benefits of scheduling the game and the rest of the non-conference schedule does not offer a lot of opportunities to climb the ranks. Nevertheless, this Pitt team appears to be improved and ahead of schedule. After factoring in the first half of Gonzaga, along with the two wins against St. Joseph's (IN), and Detroit, here's a look at the standouts from the first three (or two and a half) games.
