The SMU fans didn't care for State College

Honestly I'm on PSU's side in this. Don't like the other team's stadium or town or airport? Then don't go to the game.

North Dakota State has the Fargodome but honestly, the biggest part of its home field advantage and the program's playoff success is that visiting fans don't want to go visit Fargo in the late fall or early winter.

Hard to believe a bunch of ultra-rich spoiled big-money oil people don't like State College.

Frankly, I'd consider that a positive for State College.

So you're going to a big event in a relatively small town that is serviced by a small regional airport, the game starts at noon, and you wait to fly in a couple hours before the game, and then you are pissed off that things don't go perfectly smoothly.

Yeah, too freaking bad for you, dumbass.

The Playoffs (and seeding) are a reward for excellent regular seasons. It's that way in every Pro or College sport. Don't want to go to another stadium for a Playoff game? Put together a solid-great regular season. Penn State earned it - like it or not

The Playoffs (and seeding) are a reward for excellent regular seasons....not sure how that applies to Penn State this year...

Talk about a difference in class culture. Texas millionaires vs Pennsyltucky rednecks
seems to me those Penn State alums do pretty well for themselves...funny how knuckleheads equate liberal colleges as being redneck bastions......Guessing those hillbillies in Austin Texas are in the same class of redneck'dom.

And don't let the "spoiled SMU fan" narrative deceive you. There are a lot of PSU fans who fly in at the last minute for games.

Sure. And if they were bitching because they waited to fly in to that airport two hours before a college football playoff game and everything didn't go perfectly smoothly for them then they'd be dumbasses too.

A lot Pennsyltucky non-alum rednecks at games, and who also enjoy dressing in all white if you know what I mean.

As for UT, there is a saying that their rivals say about them, as they are known for being more liberal than other areas down there: "the land of steers and ......" Don't want to say it.

Exactly, if you have the money to fly a private plane, get there earlier. I don't feel bad at all...but that stadium is a dump.

It is. Which is I guess why they are going to spend $800 million redoing it.

That is a hell of a lot of money.

This is dumb - how do you know it's a chithole if you're going for the first time?

I've been there several times and the stadium is a total disgrace, terrible bench seats with numbers so close together you have to alternate leaning forward and back so you can fit in the row. If it rains your tailgate sits in a mud pit and very easy losing you way to find your seats.
PSux advantage is also it' detriment. Located where it is literally the only thing to do within 50 miles of the the campus so huge turnout but since nothing is there why put any money into a small time pathetic airport. Bobby Knight was right, PSux didn't deserve to be in the Big 10 for any sport but football. Just goes to show you the rest of NCAA sports are a joke.

The numbers are so close together that you are literally touching the person next to you. That's why I say if would look 100% full with a crowd of 50K. Its probably the worst stadium in college football. A complete erector set shithole.
