The spots are ridiculous

The LJ was consistent, the HL gave Navy a yard on almost every run and called the offsides which didn't occur in a tight situation.

After WW2 a returning baseball player drew a walk on a close pitch. Pitcher complained to ump, who replied "That man was a POW for two years. I am not calling a third strike."

If a defensive player encroaches and it causes a false start by the offense it is a defensive penalty. That is why offensive linemen will often come out of their stance when it happens to make sure they get the call. Navy was the better team, just like they were ten other times this year. When Navy wins, the opposing fans cite bad spots, cut blocks (which are legal) and a whole host of other reasons. Navy had one of the best players in its history just complete his career along with a group of senior offensive linemen, the stars aligned this year. I think you have an excellent coach but to try to cheapen the win by the various excuses being offered for the loss is weak sauce.

OMG!! You are 100% correct! I was saying it all day! Spotting the ball is terrible in many games.. Today was the worst !!

Also on the play they bend Ollison back at the knees that looked like he got injured but didnt, watch that play, he had the first down, they came and spot the ball back to where they bent him back to. Then we didnt get the first down and had to punt.
Maybe Narduzzi needs to have an eye in the sky and challenge a few spots. He did in games past and won most of them.
I think the linesman was the second highest gaining yardage player on Navy.

By the way... teh offsides... wasnt on Pitt, our player got back and the tight end, far off the ball moved and pointed. That by rule is a false start. The player lined up has to move in response to the Pitt move.

Frankly the better team lost, but the better QB definitely won. Their guy was on all game and our guy wasnt

How so? 3 INT's in enemy territory and a missed FG. Plus the aforementioned spots that gave several first downs when Navy didn't have a kicker. And, as you said, we recruit better. We have the better team outside of their QB who is one of the better players in the history of the NCAA... really isnt any question about that. We just didnt execute the plays on the field

Exactly! Since the QB is responsible for that.;)

We out rushed them! 9.4 ypr to 5.8 ypr, we had ONE penalty for 5 yards only, zero sacks given up, zero fumbles. We have 2 rookie of the years and a possible first round draft pick... we are good dude.

And, average yards per play Pitt - 8.0 Navy 6.5

Navy won because they were 14-17 on third and fourth downs! They were 14-17 on third and fourth downs because of great play by the QB and some nice spots and one bad penalty.
