the Current state of the U is really sad for us Miami fans. But nevertheless we’ll be there to support our beloved program section 108...hopefully the team that almost beat the Gators and beat Virginia shows up and gives Pitt a decent game.

Yeah you guys have a Jeckyl and Hyde type of team this year. I’m hoping the latter shows up. Miami has a good tradition that I’ve always admired. It would be a big win for Pitt if we can get it done.

PITT has to get to the U this year, with better in state recruiting and good coaching I see the U getting back to prominence. Like the PITT admin, the Miami admin has made some poor football decisions.

its all about coaching, the team is full of 4 and 5 stars players, we have players that were highly recruited by the likes of Georgia, Alabama and Clemson, I’ll give you an example of how bad our coaching is and the level of talent on this team, we lost Cager our 3rd or 4th wideout in our receiving rotation to Georgia in the portal this year, a freak of nature 6’4 200 plus with crazy speed, he was constantly dropping footballs and being less than average, now he’s one of Georgia’s top receivers, if we go by talent alone and this by no means is a disrespect to Pitt or any team in the Coastal, but Miami should only be allowed to lose to Clemson and to FSU sometimes, I’ll give Pitt lots of credit and respect to do so much more with less, and I believe when Miami and FSU get their stuff together their will be a 3 headed monster representing the ACC, followed by PItt and VT, maybe Louisville too.

Yeah well.....I agree Miami has always had alot of talent. But at some point talent is developed or not. Pitt has a lot of guys, especially on defense who will be high draft picks in the NFL.

Unfortunately, for us, Miami sees us, they always seem to give us their best. They lay eggs against other teams.

Yeah, this game is always a loss on the schedule (with a surprise or two). UNC I never see us beating, though. Hope things change for once, because I'm starting to dislike them.

I frankly think that Pitt's game-day coaching has been suspect and that we have been "out-talenting" other teams. Unfortunately, I think you can say the same about Miami, but their raw talent is better. As others have said above, Miami is always a tough out for Pitt and I need to see the clock strike zero with a lead before I believe Pitt beats Miami.

We had a crap coach like that with just off the chart talent. Paul Hackett. 1990 we had a defense made up of future NFL players. we stunk under alleged defensive coordinator Fred Von Appen. Coaching matters.

If Miami can just put it together, they will be a top program.

how many years are we going to say this and realize maybe it’s not going to happen?

Hello MiamiCane37, thanks for stopping by. Love talking with opposing fans leading up to the games. I’m pretty close with a few UCF posters now because of years on the national board and going over there last year, so I always welcome visiting fans coming over.

Pitt and Miami honestly have very similar histories. Both have strong football traditions that have fallen on hard times and are constrained by an off-campus stadium. I hope Miami can figure it out because the ACC and all of college football is better off.

As for the game itself, I think it will be closer than you’re expecting. We have a habit of not putting teams away and our history against The U isn’t the best. We have the most sacks in the nation while Miami is 127th in sacks allowed, so that’ll be a big key for us getting your offense off the field. I think special teams can play a big role as well. We have the 119th punt return defense while Miami has the 14th best punt return team. A few big returns could swing the game.

Good luck and I hope you enjoy your trip to Pittsburgh. Let us know if you have any questions about the city, parking, dining, etc.

This by far is one my favorite fan base, this will be like my straight 4th time that I travel to Pittsburgh for a game, I love the city of Pittsburgh, we fly out of Mia on Thursday afternoon and we usually flight back after the game, this time I’ll try to get tickets for the Steelers-Dolphins game, that one will be brutal for sure..

Exactly. I have no love for this historically dirty and thuggish program. And for the conference fanboys hoping for a resurgence, their success comes at our expense. Eff them.

I have a few neighbors and friends back home who are Canes fans, albeit they’re not from Miami, so I have a soft spot for The U.

You shouldn’t have any problems getting tickets to that one. Besides, who wouldn’t want to see the sequel to this legendary game? ;)
