PSU defeated Army 20-14. At home. Had less than 150 yards of offense.

If PSU had the balls to play ANY kind of OOC schedule, they'd go 3-9 this year.

As it is.... they'll be 5-7 or 6-6.

Maybe the worst 4-1 team I have ever seen...

San Diego State, Army, and Rutgers are all completely atrocious. And PSU struggled with them!! Lmao.

Pretty embarrassing when Buffalo is your best win. Can't wait to see them get rocked when they finally play someone with a pulse!
 
Sad thing is they will get votes this week and technically be ranked like 35th or something like that.

If they had the balls to play Navy or Air Force they would gotten their asses kicked.

If they are 35th, Pitt is a top 25 team and Iowa is top 10. That's the way I look at it, despite their record there are easily way, way, way more than 34 teams better than Penn State right now.
If the rankings week by week had any common sense also, and didn't just try to keep the preseason polls in line as much as possible, Ole Miss is unanimous #1. Usually the defending champ with this many returning players should stay #1 the following season until they lose, but Ohio State has not been impressive at all this season.

They are so predictable. After nearly losing to army, they try and rationalize how great of a defense army is and how they can't prepare for a team like them. Part of me actually feels bad for cult valley fans because most of them were brain washed at a very young age by the Joe Pa.
 
I don't normally get into the PSU stuff but that program is not in good shape.

I try to just avoid all things Penn State. When their cult worshipers gloat, and gloat, and gloat about the "clean" program Paterno ran and how no other school cares about academics like Penn State does, and how Pitt would kill to have Penn State's program, it just makes me sick.
I would not trade places with Penn State ever. I'm very content with the program we run here at Pitt. It actually is a pretty darn clean program, our coach and our fans just don't gloat about it. I'll take a mediocre team for a couple decades over winning 2 National Championships with Sandusky as D-Coordinator any day of the week.

Hey, it could be a lot worse. They could have hired Charlie Strong, Incidentally, he was another one of TDs SEC heroes because he is a good recruiter.

Narduzzi showed today that sometimes it is much more than just the Jimmys and Joes. He has turned around this defense with the same guys

I said this earlier, but it's like someone poked a hole in the PSU bubble. Hey they won - good for them. But the energy there right now is NOT good at all. (I'm waiting for the "but Army and VTech are equal type opponents!".)

Haha that is definitely coming too. They are so delusional up there. I couldn't even respond cause I was so dumbfounded, but I saw a post on BWI the other day. Somebody really said Penn State could very well run the tables the rest of the way. In everyone else's defense, even other Penn State fans were quick to basically ask this guy if he knew what the hell he was even talking about.

But Army had Davis and Blanchard, Oh I'm sorry, that was about 70 years ago but don't tell that to the ups cult.
 
Give Franklin credit he has recruited a very good incoming class. How much he keeps of them may be tough if he is hammered by a fired up OSU. They will not win against OSU, Northwestern, MSU and Michigan. Indiana will be tough as well. they probably beat MD but it will be a tussle. 7-5 looks probable. Even that is not the problem. The QB leaves and the Ol is still bad and the DL loses Zettel and the DE. If the DT declares, that leaves the best players on D gone including Lucas the safety who I like.

Just wait until their recruits start jumping from their sinking ship. They have pics of their stadium completely empty but their ad claiming sell out. What a joke of a program

I love every moment of it. No other college team deserves to fail as much as Penn State. Add James Franklin to the mix and they just keep getting even more unlikeable.

As I was saying, they really are. Can't wait for Ron Cook's article Monday about Penn State held off one of the greatest college dynasties in Army and how Penn State has fully recovered by entering the top 25 again.
I'm sure he'll throw a subtle jab at Pitt too. Criticize them for ruining Voytik's confidence and how Franklin is so great for believing in Hackenberg. Not only is he the worst reporter, I think he has a vote in the polls, so if you see Penn State receiving 1 vote for the #1 team in the country, you know where that came from.
 
Honestly that is why I root so hard for Pitt. I'm so sick of D1 football win at all cost mentality. I don't watch the NFL or NBA either. I used to be a Pittsburgh fan rooting for the Panthers, Steelers, Penguins and Pirates. Because of the disgust I have for the emphasis on them over other more important things, I no longer watch.

Even things I have to put up with at the high school and junior high levels is quite disgusting.

Exactly.. the people (even here) that want to not go after them forget about the 40 years of Joe Pa BS we had to tolerate... I am on the F PSU bandwagon until I die, proudly.

Wasn't sure but that sure is great news! From a biased point, nice to see a Pitt writer in there. Not to mention, Ron Cook plays favorites and actually doens't pay attention at all to what goes on on the field.

Oh, please no! I mean Virginia is really bad. We instanly drop back to a team nobody gives a second though about. However, it would take a modern miracle for UVA to score on our defense aneough points to win a ballgame. To me, if there's a such thing as a lock with Pitt, this is the game that is the biggest lock of the season. Youngstown or one, I would definitely say would beat UVA over 50& of the time if they played multiple times. Even Akron, being on the road I could've seen a slipup. But please Pitt, not the Virginia game!

I agree he hasn't really been complimentary of Franklin. But just my personal opinion, the guy is an idiot. Or at the very least holds a grudge or is just very biased.

I there with you. In fact the other day I was day dreaming about what would I say to Joepa if I ran into him inside the Pearly gates. then it hit me. He wouldn't be there.
