The worst 4-1 team in America

Hey, it could be a lot worse. They could have hired Charlie Strong, Incidentally, he was another one of TDs SEC heroes because he is a good recruiter.

Narduzzi showed today that sometimes it is much more than just the Jimmys and Joes. He has turned around this defense with the same guys
Exactly - Dokish made the same point - Matt House? Wtf was that hire.

Oh, please no! I mean Virginia is really bad. We instanly drop back to a team nobody gives a second though about. However, it would take a modern miracle for UVA to score on our defense aneough points to win a ballgame. To me, if there's a such thing as a lock with Pitt, this is the game that is the biggest lock of the season. Youngstown or one, I would definitely say would beat UVA over 50& of the time if they played multiple times. Even Akron, being on the road I could've seen a slipup. But please Pitt, not the Virginia game!
I've learned to be cautious. UVA should have beat ND, but lost in the last seconds. Hope the Duz comes up with a great game plan.

I said this earlier, but it's like someone poked a hole in the PSU bubble. Hey they won - good for them. But the energy there right now is NOT good at all. (I'm waiting for the "but Army and VTech are equal type opponents!".)
Army might have three players that could break the VT or PSU three deep. It was a moral victory for the Black Knights.

Their board is in meltdown mode. They are eating their own. Hilarious. Dominator almost in tears again. Calls out media. The cult is starting to realize what a fraud their coach is. Just wait until their recruits start jumping from their sinking ship. They have pics of their stadium completely empty but their ad claiming sell out. What a joke of a program
The awful weather conditions kept a lot of would be goers out.

Maybe the worst 4-1 team I have ever seen...

San Diego State, Army, and Rutgers are all completely atrocious. And PSU struggled with them!! Lmao.

Pretty embarrassing when Buffalo is your best win. Can't wait to see them get rocked when they finally play someone with a pulse!
No so fast. PSU slammed the Scarlet Knights

This was one of the responses to Kris Peterson's tweet......

"She is the new assistant AD in charge of lying and disinformation."

I find that to be very, very funny......

Recruits, Narduzzi's impact on the defense is obvious. However, that was a pitiful offense we were up against yesterday. We held rhem to 16 points last year. If Pitt had played Baylor or Bama, they would have been lit up like a pinball machine.

BTW, I was never a Charlie Strong fan. I thought Texas could do much better. How many SEC teams gave Strong a serious look at HC? I can think of only one.

Indiana beating PSU will not be a shock to me, good qb and their defense is better than any one PSU has played yet.

I was being facetious. I was serving in the military when Fitz didn't win the Heisman he deserved. I heard Cook was the reason why. I wasn't here, so I don't know if there was any truth to it.
It's not even that he was the sole reason why, but Cook had a vote. Ron then admitted he didn't vote for Larry and said that Jason White was the most deserving player.

That's another reason I'm not as cautious as in past years. I don't see Narduzzi toning back the gameplan. UVA is not very good, but the blitz will still be on and our defense will shut them down.

I know he isn't doing well. However, I'd still say Strong is a better Coach than Franklin. I just think the Texas job is a very bad fit for him.

Nobody is saying Pitt is a top ten team in the country. 90% of teams in D1 would get lit up by Baylor or Alabama.
I'd just like to see how our defense holds up against Georgia Tech, UNC, Duke and Notre Dame. Every other game our defense will probably play pretty similar to how they did against Va Tech.

BTW, Narduzzi is starting to make people focus on the present and future and forget the recent past. Cook and other journalists seem to have routinely referenced the number of head coaches Pitt had in a short period of time, trying to reinforce the notion that the program has been unstable. Half of the coaches in the count never coached a regular season game; two only finished off the season as the coach of a meaningless bowl game, and one never even coached a single practice.

But has Cook ever done the same for Penn State? They had 4 HCs in a little more than two years, and if they hadn't been issued a post-season ban for horrific behavior, the count would've been 5 for that period since an assistant would've coached a bowl game when O'Brien left.

And with the way I expect PSU's current season to end, Franklin's seat will heat up if they struggle next year, and could get really hot by the end of 2016.

Franklin losing to Pitt next year will be his demise. They way his team is playing vs ours...I just don't see them winning. There is a lot of time between now and then...I just see things trending in our favor.

No according to Ron Cook, every Saturday in State College is such a great thing considering with what they've had to overcome. Apparently to him, something they couldn't help as they were wronged by the NCAA.
Pitt, on the other hand can't keep coaches cause their program is a mess. Says things like who would want to coach at Pitt when the Steelers are so big. Well for one, Narduzzi seems to love sharing a facility with the Steelers. I think he's a guy that is always looking to learn, and who better from than the Steelers.
Ron Cook is just an awful sports journalist. He's completely one-sided and biased, and no reason for him to be involved with a Pittsburgh paper. Critical of every team except Penn State. That is, unless Penn State is as bad as they were in '03-'04, then he acts like he knows the solution.

Good thing it won't shock you b/c IU is going to blow that team out, especially if it's in Indiana.

It's not...it's at Beaver Stadium. Kind of an ironic name for a stadium. In a place famous for.....

Penn state loses their interior D line and Hackenberg.
Would just like to hear your's and others inputs. Does Hackenberg leave because scouts still see him as a draft pick, or because Hack realizes there's no chance of him succeeding at Penn State?

I accidentally clicked on TD ' S profile and found he is followed by a BWI cult member. Curious to say the least

Pittx9, Hack will leave because he is going to be one of the top QBs in the draft and he is going to make a s***load of money.

He knew there was zero chance of success at PSU when he signed his papers.

Really? And you know this how? He looked positively brilliant. He signed his LOI with Bill O'Brien and staff as his coaches. I think he expected to have reasonable performance and development under BoB with Franklin, don't you? I mean, he is making JayPa's handling of Zack Mills, Anthony Morelli and Pat Devlin seem like Bill Walsh grooming John Elway.

Anything is possible, but its really hard to imagine Hack being successful in the pros. Sure, he has size and a big arm, and I've seen him make some impressive throws. But to say he is inconsistent is a massive understatement. And that is what it is all about in the pros. I heard a scout on the PSU game yesterday breaking down his draft prospects. Several things concern scouts, including his lack of touch, decision-making, and inconsistency. His OL is horrible, but even when he has time, he seems to not read the secondary well, holds the ball too long, lacks mobility, and is mysteriously way off target on easy throws (reminds me of Pedro struggling to make the easy throw to first base.)
Still, someone, probably O'Brien will draft him, thinking they can develop him. Maybe they can, but it will surprise me if it happens.

Speaking of 4-1...About to be six games into the schedule for ups....still have not left the state of Pa for any of them....there's some dominance in there to be found for sure...

I can't remember a weaker slate....ever. Mich will pound em...but even that one is in creepy valley.....

Lol Rutgers really? That program is a complete dumpster fire right now! They didn't have their 3 best players, or their HEAD COACH for the game!
OMG, DUMPSTER FIRE....HOPE PNNYLION WAS NOT TRAPPED IN IT????....THEN MAYBE NOT, MIGHT DO HIM SOME GOOD REMAINING IN PENN STATE PURGATORY!;)

I don't think O'Brien is going to be looking to develop a QB. He needs to start winning soon. Houston is a train wreck right now. Lucky for the Texans, they are in the perfect division to at least keep their head above water.
YOU MIGHT HAVE A POINT HE HAS PITT'S TOM SAVAGE THERE TO DEVELOP!

You really think someone is going to actually pay money to have this kid play QB??
I'm sorry, but it's never going to happen.
If there's a GM out there dumb enough to draft him, he won't have a job for long!

Hack will have to be lights out at the combine to be drafted in the upper half of the first round. I think he physically is a talent. Sticking at PSU after O'Brien left was a mistake. He has continually regressed and has played his way out of a huge payday.
