I am not a Stallings hater at all, but was not real happy that he was hired. Been a season ticket holder over forty years and have gone to Pitt Bball games regularly for over 50 years. I am now thinking of dropping my season tickets next year if there is no likelihood of real improvement for next season. I have dreaded going to games this year and find Pitt basketball to no longer be a fun activity.
If I didn't know any better, I would have thought I posted this. Seriously.
Think about it. If we drop our season tickets, is there a chance that we'll have a hard time getting our seats back, even with a new coach hired? I don't think so. And how easy will it be to get any seat you want next year for well under face value without season tickets?
I had someone from the Pitt athletic department call me a few times this week. I suppose they're asking for more money to buy out Stallings. One can hope.
All you people with season tickets should send an email to the AD saying you're bailing on the season tickets and you'll be back when there is a new coach.
I did that previously. I will call to renew the day a new coach is hired even knowing there will be multiple years of digging out of this mess. Unfortunately, I don't think those emails have much impact. It is the overall emptiness of the Pete that might have an impact.
