There's no such thing as a charge

Normally I don't like it when a guy has a disgusted look on their face after a foul is called on them, but Cummings had every right to react that way after that call.

I definitely don't like Lowe crying about that non-call... which led to not getting back on defense... which helped lead to a wide open Louisville dunk.

Granted, this officiating has been awful and it was a foul. But Lowe needs to get his head out of the sand on that.

These guys officiated the game completely differently in the first half. Then they came out and just randomly started looking for anything to call.

I was referring to when Cummings took the charge on Hepburn which was inexplicably called a block.

Totally agree with you on that play by Lowe ... as whole, we have been bad at running the court all season. Besides Lowe needing to keep his head in the game, I think there's also a conditioning problem, or perhaps our guys are just too tired because they don't get much rest due to lack of subs.

Oh I know. And we're in agreement on that one. I just quoted you because you mentioned reacting to calls.

If Diaz Graham is brought back I'm done. How many chances does a guy get to prove he's out of his league?

Reminds me of Jack Suwinski.

I still don't understand why he gets so many more minutes than his brother ... yeah I think Guillermo is better than Jorge, but not good enough to get like 5x as many minutes.

Couldn't agree more. And honestly, none of these starters are good enough to get the minutes they do. We can't beat Notre Dame or Georgia Tech with these guys, but they're almost considered unsubbable by Capel? I don't get why we're so opposed to playing our bench.

It honestly won't shock me if he's coming off the bench for a team next season. Not suggesting he doesn't have talent and won't find a niche, but the role we have him in just doesn't work.
and under Capel he will never improve and play how he needs to

Capel sucks, when the announcers were calling for who to have shoot on the inbounds after the overturned OOB call they didn't realize Capel has nothing other than TRY to get the ball in, no chance for a shooting screen or anything

not that anyone would have hit the shot anyway :(

I'm not a big Amsal fan but HE should've had more minutes today

I will never understand the complete reluctance this season to use the bench more. It's not like the starting five are the Boston Celtics, and you want/need those guys out there for every minute possible. Leggett goes 4-15 from the field today and 1-8 from three, and if they didn't take him out on defense there in the last minute he would have played all 40. Why? I mean if he was playing really well and shooting the ball really well, then OK, give him a ton of minutes. But on nights when he clearly is off on offense, sit him a little here and there. Maybe the mental break for a few minutes helps him reset.

Yeah I don't think this program stands much of a chance under Capel, sadly.

It's like a NASCAR driver who refuses to make pit stops or something. Sure, staying on the track is the ideal scenario in a perfect world where fuel doesn't burn and tires don't wear down. But that world only exists in Mario Kart.

I'm not as pessimistic about Capel as many of you, but he absolutely got outcoached by Kelsey. The Cards were pushing the pace and trying to fast break to wear us out. Do we use our bench to counter? No, of course not.

The only game I can recall thinking Capel out coached a team was the Dayton NCAA game. Ironically, Miss St I believe.

7 seasons of bad coaching by Capel and you aren't as pessimistic of him? He sucks as a coach.

And yet somehow the game announcers, rather than questioning the call, claim that Hepburn twisted his body to cause the blocking call. As if it mattered what angle he took to crash into Cummings.

Yeah, that was weird.

"Well at the last possible moment he realized that he was about to slam into a guy who had established position, which cause him to twist his body a little bit before the crash. Clearly then, not a charge."

🤪
