This guy screams future pitt OC.

Dream on..... This guy screams future HC somewhere. Certainly won't be moving down to be an OC at Pitt despite coaching in WPA for a few years.

Pitt fans would have called for Narduzzi's head if he hired Shippensburg's OC to be OC at Pitt.

I thought he was a possibility after Canada left and from what I gather a brief conversation took place but it didn't go any further. He was on the short list for OC at Auburn but turned it down bet he's happy he did that. OK State does not pay it's assistant a ton of money compared to OKLA & TX even TCU.

We're firing/moving on from Watson? I don't see that happening for at least the remainder of this season and entirety of next season.

This won't work for one simple reason. "style". Narduzzi doesn't want to run this style of offense.

Cowboy fans weren't exactly dancing in the streets, especially when comparing Yurcich to the previous two OCs (Todd Monken, and Dana Holgersen). Yurcich's lego video didn't help. But I think everything has worked out pretty well, it's one of those examples where being patient with a guy and developing him is now paying dividends.

I suppose at some point, the money will be too big for Yurcich to resist. But I wouldn't be surprised if he stays around Stillwater for a while longer.

Yurich's name was definitely mentioned on here in regards to the vacancy after Chaney left. ESPN was also impressed at one point that Gundy was able to find him because it showed he did his research.

How do you go from the OC at Shippensburg to the OC at OKST? Can you imagine the uproar if we hired an OC from the PSAC?

IMO - Kasper at PR could make the jump to D1 assistant, and then College OC after a few years of experience at the college level.

Mike Yurcich just got a $100k raise from $500k to $600k and his family loves it in Stillwater. You'd have to offer around $750k to get him to move. Otherwise, he'll wait around for an HC offer. The last last four OSU OCs all moved on to become HCs. Their names are Gundy, Fedora, Holgorsen and Monken. Three of them are P5 HCs and one is the OC for Tampa Bay.

Good luck in that recruitment.

Narduzzi wants the style of offense that barely beats Youngstown State! Well, he got it! As college football offenses get faster and pass more than ever, Pitt has a slow, plodding 230 pound running back it hands the ball 15 times a game.

I actually think Narduzzi like the style that Canada runs. Which, obviously, can score a lot with the proper personnel. That's why Watson's running a variation of it now. I'm not putting a lot of this on Watson yet. Pitt has a lot of new guys or guys playing a new position on O and, due to not opening the playbook at all v. YSU, they're played one game together. Not to mention, the best QB to run said O may be either a TR FR or RS FR that simply aren't developed enough to take the reins.

We should never ever force an offensive "system" on a new OC, That's the dumbest idea ever. Narduzzi made a mistake hiring a guy stripped of his play calling duty after 1 game at Texas, and was a quality control coach at freaking Indiana.

So PSU could hire him if Moorhead leaves and save 250k?

Pitt could have scored 58 Saturday and it would not mean a damned thing. Worrying about the offense and not addressing the defense is like putting a band aid on a paper cut of a guy who has a broken leg.

Perhaps it's more pressing to think about a replacement for Conklin rather than anything else. Even if it's Narduzzi's defense bring in a guy who can recruit the players needed to execute it.
