Just horribly coached, 42 seconds left and he should be screaming at his defense NO PENALTIES, NO FACEMASKS, NO LATE HITS!!!

Back to back plays they grab the facemask. Got lucky the refs missed the first one but not the second. The defense is swiss cheese, no pass rush at all except for Harrison the 39 year old. The drafting has been bad and Tomlin is oblivious.

The sad part is they'll probably finish 8-8 or 7-9 and get a middling 1st round draft pick. They need a top 5 pick because the defense is abysmal. Way to go Tomlin, way to go. And the special teams suck too.

Curious...

A guy grabs a face mask. That's "all on" Tomlin.

Pitt CBs don't look back for the ball. That's "all on" Narduzzi.

I could go on, but...

Is it EVER the player? Are the guys on the field ever accountable in your world?

I agree with some of your post but not everything that happens on the field is "all on" the coach.

Well how I look at it is these are pro players. Tomlin needs to be in their faces reminding them NOT to take stupid penalties. 2 consecutive grabbing the facemask with 25 seconds left?? There is no excuse for that and that falls on the head coach. And Butler's defense stinks.

Ya the players wouldn't have grabbed the facemask had Tomlin told them not to.

As far as I'm concerned, the game was lost when the Steelers scored their first TD, went for two, and didn't get it. From that point forward they were stuck in a fool's errand of having to play "catch-up".

As Bell said this past week. Steeler practices are sloppy and undisciplined. Tomlin deserves to go but Steelers will not be able to do so. Such is the burden of having the NFL coacihing affirmative action rule named after you.

well I guess Trump's win has emboldened people like you to openly spread your feces around again i.e. affirmative action bull@&. I was about to suggest Tomlin should resign but now I think he should stay.

Bell has a lot of nerve saying that . He missed 7 games for his lack of discipline not being able to not smoke WEED. How many of games do they win if he plays ?

i see hillarys loss has emboldened you to want to keep a shitty product for continuity sake

I would think pro players need LESS reminding about how to play the game. To get to this level, one would hope most guys know the game. I flipped over to 60 Minutes, was the face mask intentional?

Nah...just careless. The kid had genuine remorse on his face after it happened.

If folks are into facts to form a educated opinion. Here they are.

ONE playoff win in 6 years. Its going to be 7 years. After this year is over.

The one win in 7 years. Was a total gift from CINCY for having a complete meltdown like never seen in the history of the game.

If ONE playoff win in 7 years is good for Steelers fans. Blessed with a francise QB.
By all means keep the guy lol

Actually, it's 1 win in 5 years. 6 seasons ago, we made it to the Super Bowl.

As Bell said this past week. Steeler practices are sloppy and undisciplined. Tomlin deserves to go but Steelers will not be able to do so. Such is the burden of having the NFL coacihing affirmative action rule named after you.

3rd highest winning percentage over the last 10 years, 4x AFC North Champion, Super Bowl Champion, 2x AFC Champion, higher regular season winning percentage than Cowher, 6-5 in Playoffs over 9 seasons vs Cowher's 12-9 in 15 seasons. Yeah, I think he's doing ok for only being hired because of affirmative action. If that is the kind of return you get for affirmative action hires, consider me a supporter.

And btw, if we made all the extra points we still would have lost.

I would love to see the OPs list of qualified candidates to take over for tomlin. Everyone can be a couch coach but can't offer true solutions. The man has never had a losing season, something his predecessor can't claim. They played a great game against the team with the best record in the NFL, relax.

Wow... what it must like to be you

Wasted the prime of a legendary qb's career. Ridiculous how poor of seasons they've had most of the past 5 years with the talent they've had. This can't go on any longer.

If Tomlin managed the game properly they wouldn't be in the situation where the penality killed them.
The team doesn't play as a team. Not fired up, they don't talk to eachother, etc..
Tomlin goes for two four times when he should take the FG.
The Tomlin era will cost the Steelers. By the time he gets done the Steelers will be a middle of the pack loser.

Great. But I wasn't defending Tomlin.

I've been saying for years this team lacks discipline. How bad must it be for Ben to call out the coaches? And his game/clock management does stink.

But my original point remains. Sometimes it's on the player(s). It's not always "all on" the head coach. Often times it is "all on" the player.

Ahhhh, my favorite type of arguments.

Step 1 - make claim
Step 2 - Post subjective "facts" that aren't based on any statistics so that they can't be proven false, but that actual statistics show that the statement isn't genuine
Step 3 - Make an open-ended prediction about something that will take place in the future
Step 4 - Win the presidency

Tomlin and Colbert need to quit. Big Ben is the only thing separating this team from Cleveland

Big Ben came at the coaching staff/other players for the team being undisciplined and not having accountability; I don't disagree, but I am just trying to connect this statement with his statement before the Miami game that the practices were "too tough":

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.co...physical-practices-taking-a-toll-on-steelers/

We have a lot of injuries,” Roethlisberger said. “I think a lot of our stuff stems from we’re one of the most physical football teams in training camp, in practice, you know. We do more hitting than most teams do and more [practices in] pads.”

The Steelers have a long list of players missing time with injuries, with defensive end Cam Heyward (hamstring) the latest. But

Tomlin declared Cam Heyward out for Sunday’s game in Miami after their star defensive end came down with a hamstring injury in the first half Sunday against the New York Jets. But he joins players including linebacker Ryan Shazier, offensive linemen Marcus Gilbert and Ramon Foster and a number of other starters, along with outside linebacker Bud Dupree, who is on injured reserve.

Roethlisberger said the differences in routines was evident when they practiced against the Lions in the preseason.

“They hadn’t even gone a day in pads and we had already done like two weeks,” Roethlisberger said. “We’re talking to their players how physical our practices are.

“I think sometimes it takes a toll on some guys, you know, hamstrings and quads and guys reinjuring things.”

He also said: “We talk about being a physical football team and we are a physical football team, but we also have to take care of our guys.”

That’s pretty much a direct shot at Tomlin’s emphasis on being physical, though he didn’t mention his head coach by name. And while no one else has stepped up to complain, having the quarterback do so will certainly get the organization’s attention."

Fully recovered jolly good.
Btw you're not far off.

They did play well problem is their margin for the playoff's is now razor thin. As far as tomlin he is a solid coach. Not one of the games 5 best but definitely in the 5 to 15 range. Same goes for haley not sure on butler but he doesn't have a lot to work with.
