I don't get how we had positive tests and still played a game, but all of these other teams are shut down.
I don’t think we had positive tests. We had guys get caught up in contact tracing. The positive test was someone in the athletic department that the players had contact with.
Well, acutally, if we win our next 4, we can shut it down for the regular season while clinching an NCAAT bid. I might be in favor of that.
Yeah, I think the contact tracing part of the protocol has been a real fly in the ointment as far as the number of postponements. But the schools are trying to be as safe as they can. So it’s understandable.
Sounds nice. Sounds possible. But mostly sounds unlikely.
It would be like hitting a 4 team parlay. In my world it never happens.
They could, but why would they? I think the more likely scenario would be for us to play North Carolina, whose game against NC State is in the same sort of jeopardy that our game with BC is. So if NC can't play NC State and we can't play BC we play NC instead. Wouldn't have to screw around with anyone else's schedule.
For the record, I have no idea at this point if NC State thinks they are going to be able to play North Carolina on Saturday or not, merely that they had to postpone their game tomorrow night against Virginia due to covid protocols.
Of course we also really don't know that BC isn't going to be able to play yet either.
