Thoughts

1. Not a great opponent but generally solid special teams
2. Good win period
3. Not a Briggs fan...he did have one nice tackle but is an ongoing liability and the slot receiver he picks up will salivate every time..no joke. Leader yes...D1 play no
4. Pickett had a great first half. He needs to look at the way downfield receivers a bit more as a few WR were open and never seen. One with #88 Butler Jenkins who really has some size was most obvious
5. Wondering which CB we will see play next week as I suspect that PS College will also have seen the gaps that were there
6. Would like to see better tackling next week
7. Good solid first week win and no major injuries...gotta make EVERY extra point

Pitt fans had to be encouraged by the WR play of Mack & Lopez, the use of fly sweeps to soften up the defense east-west, and the overall line play on both sides of the ball. Also, I think there's going to be a lot more of Davis catching screen passes out of the backfield in open space.

But since the band grew to 308 members. I had trouble hearing them when they were on the field, not as loud as usual. and most the student section bailed out at halftime and the rest of them in the 3rd qt
