Focus on achieving that 1% improvement. Once you've solidly accomplished that, pick your next 1% goal and keep going.
Keep repeating this process, and you'll soon find you've accomplished major changes. I don't know where 3% comes from!

That’s the kind of stuff that makes it funny when it finds its way into an eval. I’m actually mired in a complete shit show as you correctly guessed. My life is somewhat simple, though, and I’m geographically locked so I stay. I’ve interviewed but I can’t move so that’s always where it stops. I could tell some hilarious stories over beers. Like, it’s March and nobody has set any year end goals yet.

Start with a dialogue about geographic regions - and then start applying and interviewing in that area .It’s cool that they did. I don’t have that kind of buy in. Considering freelance work. We’ll see.

This is a great spring football post. My thought is he is using the theory of compounding interest to get his team halfway to where they need to be prior to the start of next season. The other half would be achievable in the summer sessions. 3% is easily achievable improvement per practice. If you compound that over the 15 practice sessions, you are around a 50% improvement from the start of spring. I won’t bore you with the formula, but you can use any compounding interest calculator and play with the numbers. It’s also the reason why you should start putting your retirement income away early in your career.
