Simply put: As any rabid Pitt fan (of which we all are) knows, Pitt has a tendency to play small when outside expectations are big. And, while today's game will not win any 'Game of the year' awards, today was *different* than previous games under similar circumstances. Most games that Pitt under-performs, they lose. Often, devastatingly. This year? Under this staff? Those devastating losses turn into ugly wins. Those ugly wins in turn allow Pitt to survive and move on still with their goals still achievable.
