This is just my opinion:
Herrion added more as an X's and O's guy and in game preparation and player development than either Barry or Barton.
Some have said that Herrion was not a good recruiter and that he was guilty of recruiting mistakes - Maybe so.
It does seem to me though, that if you missed out on all your primary targets, that he had the kind of recruiting contacts to at least find someone late that was capable of contributing.(particularly at the JC level)
Herrion more closely fits the profile of those coaches on the NC State staff(experienced, accomplished and connected) than some past and current assistants at Pitt. I think not having him or a similar coach is a huge mistake.
