we've had great success getting the 3 star commitments with apparently really good offers from football powerhouses which gives me hope we have turned the tide as I no longer see MAC schools as our recruits' only offers and haven't for several years now. Its apparent that the 5.5, 5.6, 5.7 ratings haven't meant much to those powerhouses like Auburn and Michigan State and UPS and it looks like Rivals is being really conservative in their ratings, at least this year. This raised a question in my mind about offers that are reported. If I understand it, College coaches are not supposed to be discussing their interactions with recruits (wink-wink). If that is truly the case, then the only way folks know about offers is who the recruit/HS coach says gave him an offer. Now, you have discussed in the past that some athletes think just because they got a letter in the mail from a school they are getting a concrete offer. Others DO get offers, but often they are contingent on certain things happening and/or for a short time and they offer is not really committable. Can you guys give us a sense as to how Rivals reporters generally find out about offers, how confirmation is obtained if its not from a college coach and how believable are the offers listed in the database. I'm not looking for you to name names, but just to give us a fell for what we CAN believe about the reported offers we see. Might make for a good Podcast.
