Off today and decided to check out Towson before heading to the Pete. Thought this might be interesting to those who will be there tonight.

Pat Skerry is their head coach. After 1 season at Pitt, Pat was named Head Coach at Towson where he took over a program that had 15 straight losing seasons.
Since then:
2011-12. 1- 31
2012-13. 18-13
2013-14. 27-11
2014-15. 12-20
2015-16. 20-13
2016-17. 20-13
2017-18. 10-2

His first to second year is largest single season turnaround in NCAA history. The two consecutive 20 win season were the first time for Towson since moving up to D1.

00 Zane Martin is their leading scorer at 17.9
23 Mike Morsell nets 12.8 ppg

No player averages more than 29 min/game

They largely rebound by committee with the starters corralling 20 and the bench grabbing 20. They have out rebounded their opponents 41-32. Pitt averages 35.

One-third of their total shots are from three point range and they average an impressive 40.5% as a team (26th in the nation). By comparison this year's Pitt team is at 35%.

Towson shoots over 70.5% from the line. Pitt comes in at 70.8%.

Towson asst/TO is less than 1. They are very average at taking care of the basketball with 13.5 TOs per game (ranking 163 nationally)

They have played 3 true road games and lost 2 of them (vs Old Dominion & Oakland). Their lone road win was vs Loyola MD.

Looks like Pitt needs to make them take "bad" threes, don't let them run away with the rebounding margin and hope they get careless with the basketball. The Zoo probably would have made an impact in this game if they weren't on break.
