Tyler Effin Boyd OMG

Boyd may very well be Pitt's 2nd greatest receiver ever, but he doesn't belong in the same conversation as Fitz. I can't say I've seen a college receiver any better than Larry Fitzgerald.

You are right, Ron Cook and Smizyk (the experts) have a different look on this.

Fitz was great but he disappeared in some big games. Look up 2003 Miami game if you need reminded.. Boyd absolutely deserves to be in the same category.. An argument for the ages no doubt but let's not get carried away here.

What? Just because they couldnt get him the ball doesn't mean he disappeared. I don't think that is fair at all to say he disappeared.

If you had one player that HAD to make a reception to win a title, Why would you pick anyone other than Fitz? Boyd isnt as reliable as Fitz, no one is..

What would you call it??
Well, A WR depends on so many others just to have a chance to make plays. Fitz was double teamed all night long, not to mention that he was covered by a 1st round draft pick. Also, Rod Rutherford was pressured all night (He was sacked several times) Pitt couldn't run the ball and Miami pretty much ran the ball at will and controlled the clock. He really didn't have the opportunity to make plays. Miami just imposed their will on Pitt that night.

When you say he disappeared, its sounds like you are putting it on him that he didn't put up big numbers, and that just isn't fair, imo. You could say Fitz "disappeared" in AZ after Kurt Warner retired. Truth is, he was still the same great player, he just didn't have near the opportunities.

Oh Please, lets get to the correct question and that will answer everything in this thread....What College Coach right now would turn down coaching and having either FITZ or BOYD on their team right now???
Duh, Answer NONE!

Both have shown in College Football that the Finest of Cream always rises to the Top, with Focus, Discipline, and choosing Pitt!

Comparing these Two College Career Players is just Shades of Excellence due to their 2 and 3 years of proving they are All-Americans from their Freshmen Year!

It started when they were young and then in choosing Pitt whereby they could play faster, learn the game, get instant experience by displaying and developing, there Talents and 3 Coaches in Harris, Chryst, and Narduzzi proves they made the right decisions to come to Pitt.

Tyler Boyd has NFL Teams ranking him a First Year Draft Pick and waiting for him.....while Larry Fitzgerald has the NFL & College Hall of Fames waiting for him?

End of any debate!

He also caught a TD pass that night to extend his streak of games in which he caught one. The "disappearing" act had everything to do with Miami's dominance and nothing with Fitz.

Gotta agree with TD here. Pitt just couldn't get Larry the ball at times. It's not like he had to be open to throw to him either, he was gonna go up and catch any ball near him.
