Maybe they haven't shown the entire stadium but if there are more than 15,000 at this game , i would be surprised.

What a mess for Stanford. Playing 3rd string QB, only 6 scholarship O linemen healthy, and the punter handling placekicking duties.

Going to need QB #4 if this keeps up, this guy just stands in the pocket holding the ball and takes the abuse. I mean it’s admirable the way he stands there in the face of the rush but he’s getting the crap kicked out of him.

He does a great impression of Bambi however.
Thursday night games suck for CFB. Only the die hardiest are going to drive and invest 2 off days from work.
Stanford had 15000? Maybe if you count the guys moving the chains.
But they were wise to select dark seats.

Announced attendance was 30,000. I don't think so scooter.

We should all be reminded, that college football is truly a secondary sports activity in most places around the country. Most of the country is not Tuscaloosa or State College (same thing by the way).

Forgot and surprised that Rhodes is "only" a DB coach. Not sure if he's sharing the coordinating duties or not.

They mentioned on the telecast that Stanford’s campus is 8,180 acres, or large enough to hold 96 Disneyland’s.

I’m assuming finding space to put a stadium was not an issue for them.

in the other thread you were lambasting the off-campus stadium we have
I said 20 years ago that we'd never see an OCS again. Why are people still whining about it. And HF is a dump. Pitt screwed up, but bitching about it is a waste of time.
I go back to the muddy field and splintered bleachers to watch Hart & DePasqua teams. But it felt like college football.

Better than the pro stadium not far from there. Their program would be completely dead if they had to play at Levi Stadium.
So less than 15k?

your golden example demonstrates that there is no magic for where the stadium is located

it’s okay -we know it’s hard to be rationale -from the couch clinching your wallet tight

always an excuse with you

I don't recall ever using the word magic. It would be better to play on campus. 95% of college football fans would agree. If you want to argue that it's not feasible, fine, but don't try to rationalize that it wouldn't be better for Pitt.

you don’t have to -
Your magical thinking says it for you

it would be absolutely indifferent to have the stadium in 3 miles closer

as we have decades of data to demonstrate -
Oakland isn’t a draw

and a “right siZed” on campus stadium isn’t the answer and any problems

Just proves that a right sized on-campus stadium fixes everything. Should Stanford now tarp their new stadium to get it right sized?

Actually, the decades of data supports the case for a stadium in Oakland. Unless you want to cherry pick specific years, then Pitt overall drew about the same in Oakland as they have done in Heinz. In a stadium that was neglected.

They just rebuilt around the old field. Cal spent about $300 million to freshen up their place, which was similar to Pitt Stadium.

It supports the belief that it was a mistake then. It does NOTHING to support rebuilding in Oakland.

Hence the attendance would be indifferent

you proved my point
Not yours
Thanks for finally conceding

now get off the coach and actually support this program with your wallet

That's not even remotely true. Cal didn't want to spend any money on their stadium, some genius put it directly on top of the Heyward Fault. The stadium was literally being ripped apart. The overwhelming amount of that $300 million renovation budget went into retrofitting the stadium to current earthquake standards.
