Ugly first half...not impressed...this St Joes team is

We were beating Gonzaga at the half. Do you not remember? We are obviously gonna be better than last year and better than 10th in ACC. Haha.

There wAs a reason this was scheduled two days after we got back from Japan. Expect a much better performance on Friday

terrible and we are keeping them in game.
Admittedly, I didn't tune in until halftime..... but we were up by 14 at the half and are now up 21 with 12 minutes left.

Not sure what the issue is. Are you upset that we didn't have a double-digit lead 30 seconds into the game?

Jet lag kept the team down in the first half but in the second really got it going. Won by 41.

They just flew halfway across the planet and played better in the 2nd 1/2. I forgot about it until someone brought it to my attention!

I think a lot of people think that teams shouldn't score. I'm not joking, if we're playing someone of lesser talent, some believe that the other team should not score and we should score every time down the floor.

Just tough to take a lot from this game. Friday, against the Fighting Dick Vitales of Detroit, will be a better test.

Yeah, tell me about it. StJ couldn't hit the broadside of a barn in the second half. Also, some of our players didn't do that well (Artis and Jones) but hard to say if jet lag had anything to do about it.

Damon Wilson got in the game and scored 7 with 5 rebs in just 11 minutes... looked good.. so that was one thing good.

More like a warmup than anything else. StJ in fact counted the game as an exhibition.

Friday we will be playing a team that can beat you. A much more significant test.

It's the same as taking anything from a half against Gonzaga basically on an ice skating rink. You can't take anything from either game as far as I'm concerned but it didn't stop people complaining because we didn't get any votes for top 25 because we were beating the #9 team at half by 2. Everyone over reacts after every game. With out of conference schedule being weak I'm not gonna take much from any game until ACC starts.

I think you are a little too pessimistic--your privilege, of course. I'm sure last years roster wouldn't have won by more than 20-25 tonight. This team appears to me to be about 10 points per game stronger than last year's team.

I may be too optimistic; but that is what I think.

I'm pessimistic no doubt. I've learned over the years not to get too excited or too upset about any performance by The Panthers.

Not to play Devil's Advocate, but.....this year's football team is praised because they play better in the 2nd half.

Good philosophy, but that still doesn't mean you can't take anything away from the games, like Wilson looking like a player, Cam added muscle, the defense is infinitely better, the depth is better, or we have depth.

If Dixon "almost" got that terrible team last year to the tourney, I imagine he can do a lot more with this squad.

Truf. Especially about the defense. Through 1.5 games so far we aren't giving up easy baskets like we did last year, even against the really bad teams we played.
