'Cuse made our defense look like something from Middle School. On defense, we knew exactly what they were going to do every play and we couldn't stop them. That's the worst Pitt defense I've seen in many decades. They're a laughable bunch of really bad high school players.

I thought Oklahoma State was the worse. Literally could have been 100 to zero that game. But I think the ineptitude today actually may have been worse. A supposed run stopping coach was gouged by a team that was totally one dimensional.

I agree. FCS schools need tape on him. If Yarnell or CV is our QB next year, cancel the season. On second thought, cancel it anyway. Might as well self-sanction ourselves again.

We could have returned a QB in Nick Patti but he realized he wouldn't have been given a fair shot. Could have started Yarnell but instead brought in 2 guys, both potentially worse than the 2 guys we had and now we may be going back to the guy we recruited out of HS who they didnt think was very good.
This is all a methodical audition for the BIG West. Nebraska and Purdue had previously been on the fence, but they supposedly liked what they saw today. We might be able to flip some votes.

With a tight end, who had 2 carries coming into the game, leading the charge with 154 yards rushing.
that's still hard to fathom and may have been the worse defensive performance of the Narduzzi era. And that's saying something after Oklahoma State and the entire 2016 campaign.
At some level that game is still incomprehensible.
A tight end average almost ten yards per carry against us, not on one or two carries, but on 17 carries.
I mean if a running back, a really good running back, did that to you it would be hard to swallow. But a tight end?

That's what's so maddening. After 10 or 15 rushes, you'd think we would know exactly what their gameplan was. And our swiss cheese defense couldn't do a thing to stop them. We're either very dumb or very bad. Or both.
I don't want to hear another peep about how great our defense is this year. It was never great and it's getting worse as the season wears on. Our defense is full of FCS players, and not very good ones. And our coaches are just biding their time and wasting money. Time to move on and forget them for the next few years until they get some real players and coaches and get rid of this entire coaching staff, especially Narduzzi.
The Cuse QB with the bad shoulder and the ex QB turned tight end combined for 250 yards on 31 carries....8 yards per carry running the same damn play over and over. NO defensive adjustments, no spy focusing on the guy getting the snap....a complete fail by Pitt. I think our guys gave up....
We kept trying to tackle him high and he would carry those guys along. No one was going at the low legs?
Yeah where was the run blitzing that always stymies Pitt’s offense on short yardage plays by opposing D’s? Simon can hop any barge or paddle steamer heading downstream from the point for all I care. Any mode of transportation. He’s not thinking NFL future cause he would have opted out of this mess. Put Sammy O in the freakin’ middle and let him make plays if you think so much of him.
