Update on Nix - kid must be working hard

Because he is the guy we have all determined we are building our program around. In two years he will be gone unless he red shirts. We have 3 centers on the roster and Mike Young has shown he can play there too.

Kiwi... come on!!!

ANO and Maia are no more centers than Mike Young. Well, Maia is 10 pounds heavier but he was listed as a 'forward' on the Brown web site.

We have ONE (and only ONE) C in the roster and that is Nix. Young, Maia, ANO and (I guess) Luther are all C/Fs and will probably be listed as forwards on the official roster.

Lastly... I don't think it is accurate to say we are building our future around Nix. The young man has potential and has come a long way in getting his weight down to around 300 but that is just HALF the battle... and the other half is adapting to D1 basketball and he hasn't really started with that challenge yet. So, my expectation is he will get RSed with the hope he can step into Maia's shows come the fall of 2016.

Who are the starting centers of the NBA game today? ANO and Maia are our centers, like it or not. They are, and have proven to be, competent college centers, no matter what you want to call them.

I didn't say "a guy like him". I said "guys". Luther, Johnson, Nix, Chris Jones, etc. Sterling Smith, Maia, the other retreads. It's all the same joke.
This thread is about Nix. You are either having a hard time keeping up, or just really bad at trolling.

I watched his film. Stay puff marshmallow man. He could develop in two or three years. Who knows? You can't build a program around guys like him to compete in the upper 3rd of the ACC. Bottom 3rd. Definitely.
So you watched a film. Is that a reason to start calling him names? They used to call Barkley names like that.

You must be kidding me. I would not be surprised if Maia played all his time at C this coming year but ANO is the same size as MY and played both C and PF at Richmond. To say these two are our two centers this coming year is making an assumption that will make an a** out of you and... you again!

I really do not see how people are thinking that Dixon has brought in two Cs so he can move MY to PF full time. If he brought in two players that were the size of Rossie Nix... that would be a different story. But, he hasn't. Maia, is a bit bigger but not huge for C. ANO, was the 3rd man in at Richmond and plays both C and PF. Also, Dixon has been moving in the direction of smallish Cs for some time and I really don't expect him to completely move away from MY at C. Then of course the idea of Artis playing 20 minutes a game or so at SF... to me is completely in the land of make believe but.... ya never know.

We will of course see what Dixon decides come November but I would say that it would be UNWISE to assume what you are assuming.

I saw that film as well and what I would say is... he has a ways to go... before he can compete at the D1 level. Not so much the weight as the mechanics... and getting used to the competition. Got a lot to learn.

We will see, but if history tells me anything, it is that if I think the opposite of you, I might be onto something...(wink). I see you are back to name calling anyone who holds an opinion that differs from you. Whether Mike or ANO plays the 5 is totally irrelevant to the point I was making. The point was, if Nix doesn't pan out, we have numerous guys who can play the 5. You even admit that ANO and Mike have played the 5. So how does this make me an ass exactly, when you are agreeing with me? Remember, you wanted to make Nasir a perimeter player because of his height. I really don't think after that you should throw any stones.

Charles Barkley???!!! Please!!!! Barkley was 6-4", could jump through the gym, ran the floor like a guard, was a fierce competitor, knew the game better than anyone. The only thing you could compare on Nix to Barkley IS the fat on his body.

Exactly my point. No matter how good or bad Nix is there's no need to call him names.
