Everyone screaming about the d. Are you people dumb or just bad fans quickly jumping off the band wagon. Apparently you (narduzzi and Canada) have never heard the saying that sometimes the best defense is a good offense.
Did anybody think that maybe there is a good reason canada isnt at nc state anymore ( Like stallings in basketball) ?
The only way to beat a high scoring quick offenses is to keep them off the field. For example the first quarter.
Pitt played great on both sides for 3 quarters. Even answering their scores but in the foot just went flat. That's not talent that's coaching. Chizik v Canada. Yeah that's why we lost.
If you must blame the d again go to coaching. Turbisky threw to 2 guys 90%. Of the time. Maybe you change your scheme late in the game to cover them instead of one on one coverage that wasn't working.

Believe what you want but there would be no problem if there was a decent pass defense. Blaming an offense for not keeping its foot on the gas may have some minimal and partial merit. However, it is a minor factor in the overall scheme of things taking this football team in its entirety. It wouldn't even be a concern or be a subject for discussion if the pass defense weren't non-existant.

Stats don't lie. There is an overall pattern--three consecutive weeks. You score a lot of points, dominate time of possession hugely, but demonstrate a total inability to stop a passing attack. This is a structural (defensive talent and depth) problem. There simply isn't enough talent on the defensive side of the ball this year--it was thin to begin with and is now even thinner due to injuries.

Sometimes the lack of talent is with the coaches, but everyone (like you) wants to always blame the players. Actually stats do lie. Not scoring points in a football game agsinst a high scoring opponent has minimal effect on the game. Really? The reason those games were that way isn't the inability to stop the pass it is the inability to score and put the game away due to conservative play calling. Every game! That is Canada's pattern, but you seem not to see that. He refused to put Villanova away.
Up 13 with 8 ,minutes to go you go for the jugular. You tell them in the 4th what you told them ther privious three. Anything you can do we can do better and match their score with one. Not run straight into the teeth of the d.
