1. Friday 5PM - # 9 Pitt vs #23 Rice - This is the second-highest ranked matchup of the day behind 7 Minnesota vs 10 Baylor.
2. Saturday 12:30PM - #9 Pitt vs #18 Washington State - This is the third-highest ranked matchup of the day.
3. Saturday 7PM - #9 Pitt @ South Carolina - This one will be televised on SEC+ on ESPN.com. It will be interesting to see what Pitt has left after two tough opening matches.

FYI, I documented the 5th set because I know how mentally tough these girls are and what a great coach Fish is. I wanted everyone to see how Pitt responds in tough situations.

Fish's substitution moves down the stretch were masterful.

Pitt's last 2 servers who enabled the come from behind victory were Lund and Akeo, arguably Pitt's most clutch servers.

Great battle to start the season. That would have been a really nice one to watch live!

I thought WSU would be a tougher match than Rice, but WSU was "upset" by SC yesterday. Today could be a real test in both ends of the double-header.

The ACC started the season 13-3. GT upset PSU and then had a pretty impressive road win over UCF. The knock on GT back in 2019 was that their OOC results were weak and that kept them out of the tournament despite a really strong conference run.

Other interesting results:
#10 Baylor beat #7 Minnesota and plays #2 Wisconsin today. Pitt plays Baylor next weekend.
Tennessee is 1-0. BYU is 2-0.

I like having these competitive matches at the beginning of the schedule. Fish gets to see how his new players perform under pressure and will be able to coach accordingly come conference and tournament time.
