Very tough game to watch

I’m glad we pulled it out with a 15-3 run, but we really need to play much more aggressive and harder from the start and for 40 minutes.

This should have been an easy 20 point victory. Hopefully we continue to grow and learn from games like this.

I am mentally exhausted from this one. Always thought we would pull it out, but once we went down 56-49, I was geared up for a loss.

Yep. 5 straight away from the Pete. All vs P4 opponents. Not sure there are many other P4 programs doing that?

Anyway, going 3-2 in that stretch is not bad at all. Need to use the upcoming schedule now to get some things figured out and polished up.

I don’t think a 20-point win was ever in the cards with the schedule we have played recently. That’s a lot of travel and all against P4 teams. I’m just going to appreciate the win and forget about the flaws. 1-0 and a nice break with only 2 games in 24 days.

Because VT had a NET of 230+ and had lost 5 games in a row by the following amounts:

22 point loss at home to PSU
10 point loss at home to Jacksonville
12 point neutral loss to Michigan
10 point neutral loss to South Carolina
16 point loss at home to Vandy

We slept walked through about 30 minutes and won by 5. If we played the way we had for most of our games this year and had a little more fire and aggressiveness, this game should have been a cake walk.
