Had a few requests to do this, so here it goes.

Obviously a tale of two halves. Wake Forest is a good team. I know the league is down but I think they are a tournament team at the end of the year. Very long and have depth. Multiple shooters. Last night just seemed to be terrible timing as well. That front court comes out and can't miss a three. Sure the defense wasn't good, but often times seven footers could stand out there for ten minutes unguarded and can't make a three. The 7 footer is capable but that display was just over the top.

This team is never going to overcome that kind of deficit. The last 20 minutes was basically just garbage time unfortunately. Hate to see that kind of effort from Odukale in a loss. He was just about perfect. The problem is that he was the only one. What a relief to escape any kind of knee injury. That did not look good at the time.

John, Jamarius, and Ithiel really hurt the team in the first half. It was such a strange game, because Femi was about the only one that played well in the first half. This trio was really bad, or nonexistent, and this team is not going to win a road conference game that way. John ended up with solid numbers, but was MIA for the majority of the game.

If Pitt gets outscored at the free throw line, they are probably not going to win. Last night it was 10 points. I don't know what it is about the Pitt uniform, but Wake cannot miss from three against them. That shooting display was fairly ridiculous. Which leads to the defense. Just not good. Way too much reaching and leaning. Way too many fouls due to terrible positioning. A lot of the perimeter defenders were late to react to drive. Just a tough night overall. This team has to force to teams to make shots. When they are committing fouls and allowing dunks, it has a ripple effect.

This portion of the schedule is not easy. The same team twice in three days is a challenge. Big surprise, but Virginia Tech is not great. However, it is another scrappy team that has a losing record in the conference but is capable of beating you. They cannot afford to lose both. Responding and getting the first one is very much needed.
