Our third string quarterback, at one point, was a higher rated recruit than Sam darnold.
I guess but this Wake QB looks pretty good. We are terrible vs backup QBs: Nathan Elliott twice, that Syracuse QB who put up 61 on us, and Jones from Duke his FR year. This Newman kid from Wake is really good. Reminds me of Cardale Jones
Update: Wake wins. Great 2 minute drill by Newman. Dude is a baller. NC State is terribly overrated but Wake is legit.

Louisville football this year reminds me of Pitt basketball last year. I’m not so sure they could beat Rutgers right now.
No, Louisville Petrino II (although starting off really strong) is starting to look almost exactly like Majors II. I mean there is not even any help in sight. They have one of the worst recruiting classes in the P5 coming in. I guess they had to stop paying recruits
It was a good come-from-behind victory for Wake Forest but I wouldn't say that they are an impressive team.
I'd say it is not a stretch to say it's impressive when a team that had lost three of its last four games, just lost its starting QB, has a defense ranked about 115th in scoring and holds State to 10-points below their average per game, goes into a ranked team's stadium and holds said ranked team to under 50 yards rushing, and Wake also scores two late TDs to win.
Yeah, in my book that's an impressive performance.

I wouldn't say Pitt should beat wake and VT. I think Pitt is pretty much equal to those two teams. Maybe slightly behind miami. There is a chance they win all three but just as likely that they lose all three. Personally I would be very happy if they go 2-1.
Yep. Something like #6 in the country QB on both rivals and scout -- scout had him as a five star back when whats-his-name was in love with Wanny's recruits. Though his offer sheet wasn't as impressive as his ranking: UConn, Pitt, Maryland, Iowa, NC State.
To his credit, Bostick jokes about that today. It's important to be able to laugh at yourself.
I always felt like Bostic was an old man posing as a college kid, he had worse athleticism than 36 year old Tommy Maddox.
HS QB rankings are the toughest for scouters to judge because all the traits that make a great QB are in between the ears. You can have a powerful arm but if you dont have instinct or cant read a defense, you will be mediocre.
What has Miami done this year to make you think they are better than Pitt.
Well Bostick is a smart guy so obviously you'd think that helped his rating -- but at some point if you're lacking every other physical tool, you wouldn't be ranked as a top 10 QB nationally. He also had that wind up/hitch/slow release lolly pop throws, which is more of a problem than the athleticism. Most high school QB's have bad foot work now, which I guess the norm considering the high school offenses they run don't require much of it.
