It is a weird situation. Pitt gets a chance to look at alot of unheralded kids and make judgments on their abilities. Some get offers. We, as fans are want to do, immediately go to the database to look at stars, RR and offers from other schools. Oft times we find ourselves shaking our heads.
At the same time, some of these kids, regardless of the slashlines from above, sound like good prospects. So you hope they commit to Pitt. Then...............................
Alot of these kids blow up. Big schools get involved and the angst increases. But really, isn't this what we want? We want kids who Alabama, Georgia, ND, tOSU, PSU, Miami, VT want. So while we fear those offers, we also should in some ways, hope for those offers because that definitely justifies what the staff sees in these kids. You just hope that their experiences here and relationships and bonds establish are strong enough to hold off these other schools.
