Sagaba Konate was injured prior to the Pitt game. He was rushed back to play against Pitt. He reaggravated his injury, and now is out for the year.

Interesting. He certainly was the difference as we almost definitely beat them without him.

Konate wasn't playing hurt against Pitt. Period. Any injury now is new, even if it was a re-occurance of the old one.

If you recall he didn’t practice leading up to our game, and supposedly wasn’t going to play. I would assume he was on some serious pain relievers. He obviously played well against us, but at what cost for him and the rest of the season for WV.

The hoopies that are dialed in claim he went to Pittsburgh to be evaluated and they said to stay off of the knee for several weeks. That to me is 4 weeks. Then he becomes way out of shape and by that time it’s mid February and he won’t help them make the NIT. Also they mention that his older brother is calling the shots as this really pertains to him being able to play for money next year.

I don’t think he really wanted to come back but the NBA scouts told him he wouldn’t get drafted last year. He is just counting down the days until he can sign with a euro team

I listened to a Huggy interview the day before that game and Huggy seemed very agitated when asked about Konate. He said there was no way he would play because he didn't practice. But he said it in such a way that led me to believe he was in the dog house instead of really injured. Then we saw what happened when he played the next day.

If he just wanted to sign with a Euro team he could have done that after last season whether he got drafted or not.

Well judging from how he was playing to start this season (aside from Pitt), he was chucking up 3's and trying to prove he has a perimeter game.

He probably made a mistake. There is a place on a roster for a defender/rebounder like Konate, though maybe not through the draft. He is just going to have to work.

you hit the nail on the head not to mention Huggins has thrown him out of a few practices. His brother is in Morgantown and he was not hurt for Pitt game
