31-7 over Colorado. This kid for Washington just made a ridiculous 1 handed catch and run for TD.

Kinda shows why we will eventually have a 16 team playoff. Three loss USC peaking now and better than both these teams. Maybe better than Clemson and Ohio St as well.

I look at it the other way. The only deserving team to win it all is Bama. If anything a 4 team playoff is more than enough this year.

I completely agree with this. It's ridiculous to allow a team like Michigan to even have a chance. Alabama is so much better and undefeated

I admittedly have mixed feelings on this. The season is relatively short compared to other sports, and excellence over the entire season needs to be rewarded. On the other hand, every other sport seems to have enlarged their playoff field to accommodate late peaking teams. Without enlarged fields we never would have had Villanova or NC St in college basketball, or the Steelers winning that Super Bowl as a wild card, or the Cardinals winning the WS barely above .500 a few years ago. It wasn't all that long ago that only the conference winner got in in NCAAB.

Why should college football be any different? The way it's done now teams that schedule weak OOC schedules, or are fortunate enough to have a tame conference schedule in any given year have a huge advantage. The fact is that 3 loss teams USC and Florida St would both be favored right now over Penn St or Wisconsin.

Aren't there like 10-12 teams that would be favored over PS and Wisky? That just shows how watered down it is this year. Bama annhilated USC already. Actually, they should just hand Bama the trophy and play the bowl games as the exhibitions that they are.

Reactions: Chaos
Washington, a complete garbage non conference schedule, just like Baylor previously.

I was going to post Pitt is better than both of these teams.
Stop it. No, we are not better than Washington. Colorado is an upstart, no doubt Probably back to 5-7 next year. But let's not ruin this feel-good season by deluding ourselves thinking we are in the top echelon. Yet. This is a very promising first step. Don't get ahead of yourself...

Agree - I think that throughout the season it has been shown that it is hard to stop this Pitt team offensively.... but if an opponent has any semblance of a passing game, they have a chance to win.

I've watched Colorado twice this year and it was their last two games. Found it hard to believe they were ranked so high.

Good thing about it is that Washington is in. If Clemson wins, the field is set. Zero chance for the Nits. I'd love to see USC boat race them in the Rose.
