No idea who is available.
What I do believe is it has
to be someone with head
coaching experience and
can recruit, and work the
portal.
Whoever it is will have
some experienced
returnees who can play.
King, Johnson, Washenitz,
Strickland, and Hutcherson,
all can play at this level.
Malcolm can shoot lights out
but needs more to her game.
The above is nowhere enough
because they need an
immediate impact player
and at least 2 ACC level bigs.
If they can get them out of
the transfer portal, that would
be even better.
Coach Whte had good athletes
who IMO weren't strong bball
players. I felt they worked hard,
had great spirit, and were very
good reprentatives of Pitt. Same
for White, however it is about the
W's. I feel certain he knows this.

Agnus Beranato did it at Pitt in a short amount of time so it can be done.
I’d be surprised if all those players stay at Pitt unless the new coach impresses them…
The good news is that we move on from Coach White’s first recruiting class - those players, his big hope, just couldn’t get there…

You just might be right.
On the other hand, who
knows whether the new
coach would want them,
or maybe start fresh with
all new players. If it were I,
I'd try to convince the ones
I named above to stay as a
nucleus, and build off of
that through the transfer
portal.
The problem with that is that if you don't keep at least most of the players that he named you have to bring in essentially a whole team in recruiting. Which is certainly a lot easier with the current transfer rules than it used to be, but it would still be a really difficult thing to do. And I don't mean difficult to bring in anyone, I mean difficult to bring in enough players who can actually play at this level so that you aren't completely embarrassed next year.
I think we're saying the
same thing. The players I
named would hopefully
form the nucleus of the
new team. I agree easier
to get transfers these days,
but "difficult" to get ACC
level transfers. I have no
sense of what these young
Pitt women want to do. A
lot of it will depend on how
they're approached by the
new coach, and how much
they want to stay at Pitt.
It'll be interesting to see
how it all develops.
