Weah

Sometimes I wonder how many on this site are actually fans of PITT!

I am not looking though rose colored glasses but if we can stretch the field our offense will be hard to stop. I am sure the coaches would not have him on the 1st team if they didn't think he can catch.
Being a fan doesn't mean forgoing reality. Those are the things you are constantly criticizing PSU fans for. I don't know how you continually miss yourself talking out of both sides of your mouth.

Well, he was first team all state in high school, so he was pretty dominating, so that is unfair of the kid.

What IS fair is he has ZERO catches for us. So, that being said, I have close to zero confidence that he will be a game changer this year as well. And as others said, if this is wrong, then I will be nothing but happy for Mr. Weah.

I think the telling sign was this super fast speedster/hurdler wasnt on kickoff returns. Kinda told me his hands are in question. He seems like a great kid though, and well spoken, so I am rooting for him.
He really didn't though. He played in Wisconsin and the competition was suspect and his stats were mediocre.

Agree with the rest and i think everyone on here is cheering for him because IF he can catch and has learned to run any routes, he could transform the offense and make us much, much better. It is just about being real about the past 3 years and realistic about the future.

It's not an "I told you so", its a "more of the same". We have no expectations of him because he's proven on SATURDAYS he can't catch. If he has 0 catches because he had 0 passes thrown his way, that's one thing...but he has dropped every pass thrown his way. He's more like the NFL version of Limas Sweed.

Well said. The coaches have stated several times that he's also been working really hard.

It sounds like he will certainly get his game reps early, and it would make us a stronger team if he is an effective #2 WR.

I'm not sure if anybody listened to the Peak podcast, but he's normally a glass half full kind of guy when it comes to the players....but he said after high hopes for Weah after the spring, those hopes are going away in the fall. That tells me a lot, as Peak gets a good deal of info on these kids from people. Not saying he's never wrong, but I would have to think he's heard/seen something in the fall to change his opinion.

It's beyond insanity to say he hasn't gotten a chance yet. BUT, with that said, I am holding out hope here, think he can still be a player for us. No he wont make us forget about Boyd or even English but maybe he can catch a ball or two a game and be that "Fly pattern" guy that takes a safety away from the deep 3rd.. LIke a very poor man's Mike Wallace..

Dwight Stone as well, although he was short. Certainly had some decent years for the steelers though.

9 your the one who started a thread that said something along the lines of.....if weah can catch the ball he might make this the best pitt offense in years.

people are judging this off evidence. he has zero catches going into his 4th year, its ok for people to be skeptical.

now, your getting mad at people who have a different opinion. relax.

Huh? But this kid was passed over by everyone. He wasn't a playmaker. He was fast. That was it. He couldn't even dominate his crap competition. This is a fantastic example of the people "moaning" about not getting coveted playmakers. We settled on this project kid because he could run fast and hoped he could figure everything else out.

I never "moan" about needing the mythical "playmaker". I don't even know what that means in the context of a HS prospect.

There is plenty of "moaning" on another thread about a TE with good hands that can block. But he's "too slow". You can't have it all in every player. You only get to build players like that in video games.

Yes and your blind faith and disregard for reality and honest discussion of Pitt is exactly what you criticize PSU fans for.

If a PSU fan posted the same thing about one of their players you would call them a delusional sheep, Joebot, etc.
Keep it realz ....while wearing your cardigan and slacks bud

Post should have said this "isn't a fantastic example" of that because Weah didn't qualify as such and you made it out to be that because he was fast he would have fit that bill. He was a huge reach who only had speed and couldn't dominate very suspect competition.

I think the Wideouts will just be fine along with TE Orndoff, Running Backs full of Fresh Legs, and Offensive Line that can control the Line of Scrimmage against all Teams including Clemson.

I have High Confidence in Pitt's DL too, especially with the "PRICE is Right"!.

However, I am worried about LB depth in case of injuries, but Bam Bam Bradley may make it work with a Smart Zeise/

Although DB lacks some of experience with New Talented DB Recruits, if they can play great early without too many mistakes, Pitt could be 3-1 or 4-0 in first 3 games?

Yet, I am really waiting on the "WHITEHEAD Surprise" 15 to 20 plays on offense, and the "WHITEHEAD Tip Of Spear" on Defense.

Much depends on OC Canada and QB Peterman Execution working together and staying healthy and will become a cheap hit target all season long by the other teams, as I see it right now?

I would b really impressed if Pitt was 3-1 or 4-0 after 3 games!!!!

I go back and forth on it after reading media Reports on PSU-PITT Camp Reports on Roster Competition and Coaches Comments?

In one way I just see Pitt LBs have a tough time covering PSU Talent at Wrs, and RBs, but then will PSU QBs be ready too, just can't predict it right now or even a minute before Game Time.

Same the other way, PSU LBs will be ready but Pitt OLs will dominate the DLs if Pitt QB hits its WRs that can be covered by PSU DBs, that are unknown right now?

I still see a 37-34 game but which way. Will know more after Kent State big Win for PSU in my opinion. and Pit Win against Villanova but closer than many think?

After that Pitt has OKSU and UNC? PSU has Temple and Michigan?

No clue yet, I think Pitt known better experience QB & OLs could be very special but still has new OC?

On PSU Moorhead's Offense and PSU New Coaches will need time to adjust should be expected, but Barkley & Godwin, with a good Run & Gun QB with a better OL could be way better than expected.

What 4 Great Games to define the season for both PITT-PSU too? Rhule & Harbaugh are Great Coaches too, just like Gundy & Fedora?

So, that PITT-PSU Win or Loss means only one Team can be 4-0, or both could be 3-1, 2-2, or 1-3?

I am positive I have never related a fan base that supports a coach who ignored reporting a child rape because he didn't want to ruin anyone's weekend with a receiver who has great speed and size.

Once again I said if he can catch he can be a player who takes our offense to a new level. Concentration can be learned.

You have criticized PSU fans for the same baseless belief in their recruits or players or coaches time and time again.

Then when Pitt fans question similar cases (you say PSU are sheep about) you say people aren't real Pitt fans. It is the exact same behavior you criticize. It isn't just about Paterno/Sandusky. You've been doing it before that even came out.

I have not critized UPS in their recruiting efforts. They have recruited well. Now coaching is a different story.

Try to keep up sparky!

If he can catch this offense could be our best in years! I really think he is the wild card assuming everyone else is healthy!

Thoughts?
Is this even a real post? Aside from the ridiculously reductive "if he could catch" theory, you're claiming that he could be our best in years? I guess you weren't around last year, when the all-time receptions leader at this school was here.

I never said he could be one of our best ever. I have followed the program since 1966 so that covers last year. Yes, TB was awesome.

Ah, okay; I misread that and thought you were saying he could be our best receiver in years. I still think the offense will be extremely one-dimensional this year; I'm just hoping that dimension is good enough. I don't like Ford as a #1 at all. Last year, people complained about teams doubling Boyd because we didn't have a legit #2. And now we're counting on him to be our #1? Seems far-fetched.

You criticize their players, recruits, coaches and fans all for having over inflated reputations and the fanbase for being blind homers all the time. You just can't see your own contradiction.

If you are going to stalk people at least get the facts right! Are you a Pedo?

I guess this is another example of your optimism and positive outlook.

Please remember that your "realism" is nothing more than your opinion. It is not absolute truth or anything close to that.

I never claimed to be those things. I am honest and have my own opinions.
