When sports writers say Franklin was put in an impossible situation that's simply not true.
1. most good players and recruits stuck with PSU throughout this mess
2. he inherited a very good situation from a very good coach O'Brien
3. recruiting was strong the whole time
4. sanctions went away and bowl game added in Franklin year 2
Sounds like political talk to me.
