1. Toney Injury
2. Ellison weakness
3. No bigs, with Brown thinking he is Steph Curry
4. McGowans pressing for his family
5. Rest of ACC figured us out, we never make extra pass to open guy.

We may win 1 game for the rest of the year. Maybe. Our offense is let the 2 Freshmen drive down the lane over and over again. Never mind dishing out or anything else. Charge turnover or blocked shot. Damn it!

The ball movement on offense is a problem......and yes I know the personnel is a factor

#5 is the main problem. Especially Trey. He never ever looks to dish once he starts driving to the hoop. It's not working anymore Trey. Start looking to pass some.

Who would they pass to beyond x and trey.

This fan base doesn’t deserve anyone better than stallings. He was a great fit for a crappy fan base
Dude, before i put you back on ignore, you realize you have no self awareness, right? You whine like a 10 year old while Pickett has a bad game, you whine when the Pats are winning in the NFL, you whine about any complaints about Dixon or Capel, yet you are allowed to whine about Stallings. Look in the mirror...

I expected a losing season. I didn’t expect the NIT..down by 30 to Clemson at Halftime is pathetic. Nothing to do with the fan base. Why bring up Stallings. Worst coach in the history of Pitt Athletics. Have to change the offense a bit!

News flash There’s no magic offensive strategy to overcome no bigs and no consistent outside scoring threat. Not a coach I’m the country who would get more out of this team

Relax. If it weren’t for Capel all the games would have looked like this.

Absolutely!

Teams have bad games. This team has been through a brutal stretch. Their best players are frosh. One of their best players is out. It’s a road game

Dissappointing but not surprising

Not much change that can help is possible given the current roster without bigs and outside shooters and a thin bench—-Unfortunately!,

Fireballz, Pittpoker, & Rocky don't like you. Think about that - about just how messed up you must be for that fine trifecta of humanity to be raging at you.

Nice work, keep it up.

Couldn’t have said it better! And once again they fought hard when the game was out of hand. This team never gives up.

We have freshmen who won more games than to be expected after Stallings destroyed our program ,

2 acc wins so far means capel is halfway to matching the combined 2 seasons of Kevin stallings/
The wet fart of coaches
This team is starting to resemble a Stallings team.........

Shoot good, look good. Shoot bad, look bad.
The only only good turnovers are Apple or Cherry.
When you haven’t been there before, your mistakes will look painfully obvious.
If you have to play with what you have, and one of your best isn’t available it Will look painfully obvious.
Tough loss to watch, tougher to accept as we all see the promise of what some of these players can be at their best.
Learn from the mistakes made and move on.

Clemson was shooting better than ever from 3. Some days everything goes in even for a team as bad as Clemson. And when your team plays sloppy, predictable, can’t rebound and decides assists aren’t important,,well you get us last night.

What changes on offense do you recommend?

This team is nothing like a Stallings team, except with his leftovers. If stallings was here we lose by 50 to Clemson, rather than make it respectable. Johnson is the 2nd Pitt freshman to score 30 this year. Clemson was pre-season top 25 with a senior led team who we played on the road. There is a reason Vegas had us as a near 10 point dog.

I don't know what to say. This Pitt fanbase is much more suited to a Stallings as their coach. Now watch at the next homegame when they abandon ship like the rats on a sinking ship and don't bother to show up.

as bad as last nights game was, it was better than most of last years games. we never quit. this team is still a MASSIVE improvement over what we had last year. now, capel needs to work his magic on the recruiting side of the game. we are so under-manned vs our competition at this point, but not close to as bad as last year.

Wrong. This is NOT a crappy fanbase. It is like others, winning breeds satisfaction, and losing breeds frustration. When Pitt was a big dog in the Big East, it sold out games, and had a vibrant, positive fanbase. The Stallings era was a disaster, and the negative Nancies came out in force. I think this fanbase has been very accepting of the Capel era so far, and despite a few losses lately, has still been positive toward the future. Maybe you deserve Stallings, but the fanbase deserves Capel.

its called perspective.........this was one game.........anyone who expected the great start to continue with what Capel was left is completely delusional. Look I get it, its a message board and some folks want to dissect every game and play pretend Wooden and come up with "solutions" to prevent games like last night. Ok fine......its the over the top stuff like "how do we spin this disaster" that Im pointing out.....I get that its natural to be disappointed in a performance or concerned that recruiting isnt going as well as we'd hoped. But at the end of the day Capel was left with a dumpster fire......there's few if any coaches who could have accomplished what he has at this point. Given that I think he deserves a bit of a longer leash before the pitchforks come out.

At the end of the day.........the question you have to ask yourself is.......at this time last year, did you expect the program to have as much promise as it does today. If you're being honest the answer is NFW...........

The last few yrs of JD run fans where starting to jump ship . Had Pitt actually made a “splash “ hire I think interest would’ve increased . Until Pitt can compete with the schools at the top of the ACC or JC brings in a highly rated class there will be plenty of empty seats at the Pete .

BC went 2-16 the year after it went winless in the ACC. There was no rational reason to have expected Pitt to have done better. They play in the ACC.

Exactly!
This board goes into a tailspin after a lousy performance last night.
Of course there's posters who start talking post season tourneys after an
upset win or two. We are now deep in the ACC schedule. All of the other teams
have talent...ACC level talent. We have a great coach who's performing miracles
IMO. His best players are three freshmen who are prone to sometimes looking
bad. Last night was a good example. McGowens will learn and bounce back,
We will look very good and at times look like last night as this season progresses.
I say the same thing after every game...This team does not quit. Last night
they fought and hustled despite being totally blown out. The final score was
not indicative of how badly we were getting hammered. It is however indicative
of how Capel has them working, hustling, and fighting.
Like most of the ACC teams, Clemson is far superior in talent than we are at
the present time. They were on fire from three land; we were missing a
starter; and we had no inside presence last night. None of this surprises me,
we are what we are.....better than average mid level talent playing in the ACC.

I like the penetration but it has to have other options penetrate and pull up for a 10 footer or teardrop floater or kick out to open shooter.

Capel even said it a couple of days ago. We can’t just continue to go down hill. You have to move theball to the opposite side more often to create the open shot from the extra pass. Announcer mentioned it last night too. Even said that we did a better job at that a few times in the second half

Who's gonna make that shot?

We are seriously challenged as a perimeter shooting team.

Yup I like JWF......I think hes a stand up young man. plays hard and does everything you want him to do...........but hes not an outside threat that teams have to game plan for or change the way they defend.
