What about Barnes leaving?

JD left of his own volition. Some of you will just make shit up if it suits your concocted narrative.

Barnes dropped Jamie's buyout making it easier for TCU to get him.

Hey Pitt could have used that money and put it into the football program for staffing salaries.

I guess Barnes did that because Pitt didn't need the money.

Some people just are not aware of what is going on.

HAIL TO PITT!!!!

He's not saying anything we didn't say - Beat the number two team in the country and 35,000 show up at the next game.

Yes people making shit up out of whole cloth. It seems that JD didn't like Barnes much and decided to leave. IF JD wanted to be at Pitt he'd still the BB coach.

You don't enforce a buy out clause to the full max when the employee involved makes clear he wants to leave if doing so, will force the employee to remain in his current position. After the employee makes it clear he wants the hell out it's in neither party's best interest to force that party to stay- the work relationship after that will never be the same. You're very naive.

Why the hell not?!

Wanny would be a great AD!

Because he has trouble stringing more than a few words together. Because he becomes a deer in headlights when asked just about any question (and he will be asked lots of questions in that position). And because he has no real experience with any other sport except football.

I think we all recognize that Wannstedt is a terrific ambassador who loves his Alma Mater (and especially the football team). If only that were enough.

Though, I guess if he somehow were to be Chosen AD, his #1 priority would be to push for whatever it takes to make the football team a national contender.

I like stinging words.

Correct. Barnes did the right thing. Nothing worse than retaining an employee who wants out.

If Barnes is leaving for the worst job in the PAC what does that say about the AD job at PITT??
Maybe he likes legalized pot, a sanctuary city, as many bike paths as roads, and very expensive craft beers that aren't worth the $.
Holy Cow!!
If you're referring to Portland......that's not where OSU is....they're in a farm area college town. 90 minutes? from Portland. Eugene a bit further.
