What is the problem with Dixon's recruiting?

So if that's the case, he's not giving us the best chance to win, so why do we want him? Why not get a coach who is willing to do whatever it takes to compete at the highest level?
So then drop to a lower level where you have a chance to win big without cheating, because you are pretty certain that the others aren't cheating either. I'd be totally fine with joining the Ivy League and dropping the "Power 5" charade. I don't see the point of being at the highest level and playing hamstrung, because your opponents are willing to do all kind of things you refuse to do. Unless it's all about just cashing the big TV check, even if you suck on the field getting destroyed by the cheaters every year? I'd rather win the I-AA 16 team playoff than go 6-7 in the next Weedeater Bowl every year, while the "Blue Bloods" in our league cheat their way into the Big Playoffs and Final 4s.
That's not an unfair comeback, 79. Some good points. But we DID more than compete in BE hoops. Putting aside the current struggles, which are very disconcerting, isn't it fair to think that we can compete in most sports in the ACC w/o cheating?? Sure, it makes the task harder....but the satisfaction of doing it the right way should be greater, even if it means no dynastic runs, just solid results with some occasional magic. That's what I'd like to get to, now that my longheld dream of undefeated seasons in every sport appears to be unreachable.
I'd rather compromise my success a bit than compromise our integrity at all. I believe its possible.
I don't see the point of literally playing Washington Generals to Coach K and Coach Cal's Globetrotters, while they stand at the podium holding up the trophy and cutting down the nets every year and never really get punished for anything. I don't feel any satisfaction in "doing it right", what's "right" if they are rewarded, never punished and to the victors go the spoils?
Well, some teams ARE punished....Memphis/UCONN/Cuse, etc. 2 wrongs don't make a "right". Perhaps you should switch allegiance to Laroche or Geneva College?? The new boss is the same as the old boss......no cheating tolerated. Who knows, maybe Jamie would cheat if he thought his boss would approve?? Doubt it, but the facts are clear.....we're trying to win w/o that. Fine by me.
To me, Hell NO, they aren't punished! I mean losing a few schollies for a couple years? Being banned from a couple post seasons! Lol! That would be worth giving up for a trip to a Final 4 or a Championship.
Good point! Playing "by the rules" and sucking is worse punishment than missing a post season or vacating a few wins or losing a couple schollies, LOL!
You know too, if Duke for example was guilty of cheating RIGHT NOW, you know they'd cover it up, they'd hate the public perception of vacating a current title. 'Cuse may have cheated for their title and surely some of the recent UNC titles where products of cheating, but you know what? Punishing them with slaps on the wrist, years later, they still have the banners and the memories, nobody cares.
So you don't care....it's your choice. But I care, and I'm not alone. You'd probably brag about it to your friends. Sad commentary.
Damn right I would brag about it! Just like the Duke fans, the 'Cuse fans, the KY fans, the UNC fans, you name it are all still bragging about their titles and not putting *asterisks next to anything and nobody cares!

Have you ever read some of the stuff you write, none of it makes any sense, you really don't know what you are talking about, the only thing I can make out is the fact that you settle for mediocrity and you're happy with that, I really think you are a nitter especially in football, I want Pitt to win and win it all and after the last 4 years we headed downward so if JD does get fired, he earned that right

Not true Doc HC Carlson 1922 - 1953 367-248 2 Helms national championships 1928 and 1930 and 1 ncaa final 4 1941. Glory years? Are you referring to the CBI championship and the NIT one and done over the last four yrs of these glorious years
Doc's winning % was under 60%. Jamie's over 70%. If he goes 60% for 19 more years, he'll have around 670 wins.
