Pitt received 2 points in the Coaches Poll, and Temple received 3 points in the same poll.

This means a 2-and-a-half TD win over Penn State is worth 1 point more than a 1 TD win over Youngstown State. How insignificant is 1 point in the poll? Well the #1 team got 1599 points. The difference between #23 Tennessee and #24 Wisconsin is 104 points. And the difference between killing blue blood BigTen program Ped State and hanging on for a 1 TD win over an FCS school not even ranked in the FCS top-10 is 1 point.

I think it is certain coaches that respect Narduzzi giving him some dap. Probably ones that believe he will have success at pitt

Part of that is the history of the respective programs, and as an alum of both schools I totally get that. Temple last cracked the national rankings in 1979, so the Owls have a lot of convincing yet to do, whereas Pitt has had ranked teams numerous times in that timeframe (though you wouldnt know it from reading this board sometimes).

Agreed, temple winning against one of the worst teams in the big 10 means almost nothing to voters, as it should

My first thought was to wonder if Terry Bowden has a vote in the poll and he picked us 24th this week just so our name showed up on the list.

Well, we showed improvement over our last game with YSU, if we also show that improvement against Akron, again being short-handed like we were against YSU... then no matter what you want to say, you have to at least give the new coaching staff some kudos. Avoiding those big upsets have been hard for Pitt over the years.

Its nice for that other mess of a program in the center of the state being the one that loses to poor teams each year.

I see it another way, Akron's Terry Bowden voted for Pitt in hopes of beating Pitt and Coach Pat Narduzzi voted for Pitt too for Pitt!

Both voted for Temple with Rhule too!

I thought YSU came in as the 10th-ranked team in the FCS polls?
