Which Type of School Would You Rather Be a Fan Of?

1) Duke/Kansas/etc. - Generally elite in basketball; mostly trash in football

2) Oklahoma State/Wisconsin/etc. - Often going to finish in that 20-40 range in both football and basketball

3) Penn State - Top 12-15ish football program; complete afterthought in basketball


Not talking about these specific programs (you hate Penn State; we get it), and I'm not talking about where these programs are exactly right now but rather in general.

#2 is sort of where we've been. I'd probably go with #3 because I like football the best.

Interesting question. I’d choose #2. You’d get a CFP berth/conference championship every few years and once a generation F4 run. Would absolutely keep me invested in both sports.

If we cant be Alabama or Ohio State in football then who the hell cares if we are OK St or Wisconsin. I'd rather win bball national titles and suck at football

I gotta agree, it was fun when Pitt was top 10 in basketball and winning BE titles almost every year. Not great in the NCAAT but they had high seeds and the BET every year was great when they had those streaks of going to the finals every year and playing 3-4 days in a row.

I absolutely agree. I don’t know how likely this would be, but at that point I’d like to see a split between the eastern schools and the midwestern schools.

Midwest: Butler, Creighton, Dayton, DePaul, Loyola-Chicago, Marquette, Saint Louis, Xavier

Northeast: Boston College, Duke, Georgetown, Pitt, Providence, Seton Hall, St. John’s, Syracuse, UConn, Villanova

I doubt the Big East would kick out Creighton, DePaul, and Butler but just for kicks, I wonder if Pitt, Syr, and Duke banded together and said "its us or them," if the BE would take them up on that. I know Creighton has been good but they dont fit in the Big East. Also, they recruit the Northeast which hurts the Northeast Big East schools. They would need kicked out and can go to the American with their buddies, Wichita State.

Pitt, Duke, and Syracuse don't recruit the Northeast? I mean aside from giving up conference football money (ACC for now, but probably Big 12 in the future) being an asinine suggestion to begin with.
