were awesome against VT. Maddox technique looked like a guy that could play Sundays-----he turned and ran, he turned to the ball, he was the right level of physical despite not being 100%. Whitehead showed incredible athleticism---I haven't seen stats but he had to lead the team in tackles. Whitehead also showed that he watched a ton of tape or took quickly to coaching----he knew where the ball was going, run or pass within a second of the snap. Whitehead had one on one coverage with Cam Phillips and left him multiple times to go make the play on the other side of the field before the pass was thrown. The Hokie fans behind me at the game kept saying, "why is #9 leaving cam uncovered?" I thought we might get burnt in the second half but Whitehead seemed to know everytime where the play was going....
