First, it's my heroes. Now get up tomorrow and get to work. Know that I'm on the beach with mai tais ~ all the time.

Second, it's the basketball supporters who see the train going out of the station. Face it. You people had your chance and you blew it.

WHO IS NOT COMPLAINING: President Gallagher and AD Barnes who have hired Populous to create a new MASTER PLAN FOR PITT'S ATHLETIC FACILITIES. AND GUESS WHAT? THE NEW PITT STADIUM IS IN THE MASTER PLAN! LOLOLOLOL

If only there was a plan, with a visual, that had the stadium sandwiched between the Pete and sutherland. Does anyone know of such a thingg?

First, if such a thing would ever happen, it would never be called PITT Stadium again. It would be called "XYZ" Stadium after the company/person who donated millions/billions to get it built.

It's not going to happen. Not in my lifetime, and I hope to live about 30-40 more years.

What new Pitt Stadium????? There isn't one and there won't be one for a long, long time, maybe never. Where does this garbage come from?

OP raises a fair question: why do so many on here actually hope Pitt never gets an on-campus stadium?
I don't comment on it much because I don't really care if they ever do or not, but many people seem very against it.
What would you do if an on-campus stadium was built...quit donating? Burn your Pitt gear? I don't understand the sentiment against it.

Nobody is actually against it.
Most have enough sense to know there is no return on investment on the concept .
At least those who understand how math works .

Who's against an on-campus stadium? I'm not. But it's stupid to think there is a possibility that it could ever happen at Pitt now. You'd have to be mentally challenged to think otherwise. That's what the angst is all about. Stupid posts that insist on a new Pitt stadium on campus is going to happen anytime in the next 100 years.

GSPIA made a Plan for Nordy and Stevie, but they buried it. Crazy Paco has elements of it and he has posted a few. Namely, the stadium being built on the OC Lot. Check out the website

YOU ARE QUITE "OUT OF THE LOOP". The MASTER PLAN FOR PITT ATHLETICS FACILIITES to be created by POPULOUS will address the NEW PITT STADIUM. Now get your check book out. We need the extra 5 bucks. LOLOLOLOL

The anti-Pitt Stadium people are the refuse left over from the Nordy "Basketball First" days. They are losing all they connived for in the past. And a few are my former friends and hateful enemies that are basically taking some time off from pornhub.

STOP IT! YOU ARE AGAINST IT. Or are you just provoking responses on the board. Get back to your typewriter. That is where the past is.

The economic multiplier is 2.5. That is not counting the new free advertising from television for increasing admissions and local redevelopment. Pitt invests ~ and developers spend money around Pitt's money. Are you old enough to remember the "Hill Public Housing Project"? Only a huge University with deep pockets can completely move out a Federal Housing Project. And exactly how long do you think the VA Hospital is going to last? Financially speaking? LOLOLOL

You really need to understand how big money works.

False narrative, sir. I think almost ALL of us would love a stadium on campus. Only a few think it's the right thing to do, or is even feasible. I dropped FB tix after close to 30 years when they tore down Pitt Stadium. Have had them for a couple of seasons at the North Shore Dumpster. Would renew if we played in OUR stadium. But it won't happen. The OP is just a troll. It's not in the works.

Sure, I'd love a new stadium on campus.

I'd love a lot of things. I'd love to have the winning lottery numbers. But that's not going to happen either.

The OP is on some sort of crusade that will never, never, never happen.

I don't know where this "basketball first" comment comes into the equation. Pitt built a convocation center with a portion of state money. He is actually thinkg they should tear it down?

I also know that there is going to be an effort to put resources into football. But a new on campus stadium is simply NOT going to happen in the next 4 decades.

The BB comment = penis envy.

Those WERE the good old days!

Pitt needs a mega donation in order to start discussions of a new stadium. However, since the prior admin did nothing to acquire land for such a project, it will be difficult to build in Oakland.

Many Pitt "fans" in fact DO NOT want an Oakland stadium. It's too difficult to drive in from Cranberry or Moon Tahnship and be home midway into the 4th quarter with a stadium in Oakland.

I'm an xvideos guy myself

I'd love a "private night" with the Radio City Music Hall Rockettes, too, but that ain't happ'nin either.

I honestly could not care less either way. I love playing at Heinz, and I dont live in Oakland, so getting to the stadium and parking is far easier. I like Heinz, and it is a great tie in with the steelers. After the game, I still head into Oakland to eat with my kids at some great little place.
If there was an on campus stadium... I am sure I would love that too, and Id find a way to park and would love going to the local eateries after the game. The crowd would be more vivacious I am sure, and the atmosphere would be slightly better.

However, either way, I am still a die hard Pitt fan.

Why does that matter, that's just how it is, who cares?

I'm fine with a stadium in Oakland, as long as there are major infrastructure upgrades as well as an easy mass transit connection to the city.

Major infrastructure upgrades aren't happening first. Best to build the stadium and then let people force politicians to make the upgrades when they are sitting in more traffic.

So you are saying that there will never be major infrastructure upgrades even if we build a stadium.

I think the OP confuses what he perceives as people "against a stadium in Oakland" with people ridiculing idiotic "plans" based on fantasy.

Exactly. I said that to someone the other day. People aren't against a stadium in Oakland. People are against moronic ideas for a stadium in Oakland. And god knows, there have been plenty of those.

My estimated cost is $400 million.

$100 million for land acquisition
$300 million for the stadium

$100 million financed by Pitt athletics with a 30 year muni. Debt servicing would be about $5 million/year which is similar to Georgia Tech right now.

$200 million from mega donors (Tepper)

$100 million from Pitt general

I think Barnes will pretty much say we can have a stadium if we raise $200 million. Obviously you are going to need 75% of that to come from a dozen or so uber rich. So, if we dont get a stadium, it will be because the fans didnt want to pay for it......and maybe that's the best way to do it. Put it on us (and the uber rich).

A guy like Tepper could write a check for it tomorrow. I have no idea what he thinks of Pitt football or the idea of a "Tepper Stadium" but guys like him are throwing tens of millions at athletics programs all over the place.

Unfortunately, you've been in Texas too long. Please catch up.

Sorry, Basketball is second string these days my disgruntled friend. Your floor seats are worth a lot less since Nordy and Barnes sent Jamie packing, and hired Populous to do a MASTER PLAN. HAIL TO A NEW PITT FOOTBALL STADIUM.

Your boss.

I think it is time to bury the hatchet my brethren. I found out who you really are, and it bothers me to no end that we've been out of touch for so long. Please come over for dinner. I've invited you so many times in the past my dear friend. Just tell me what you'd like for dinner. I'll make it for you. Looking forward to your visit. All my very best. P.S. I'll send you an invitation to your home if it takes that or anything else to get you to come over these days.
