4 years of no NCAA tourney when they switch from D2 to D1?
What's the reasoning there?
Oh okay that makes some senseThey want to discourage teams from moving from D2 to D1 unless they are really serious about it. There are already too many schools playing in D1 who have no business being there.
Pitt, for instance.

Joe, I got a chuckle from your post. Bravo! They want to discourage teams from moving from D2 to D1 unless they are really serious about it. There are already too many schools playing in D1 who have no business being there.

Love watching that teamThey are probably changing it to a 2 year transition period.
I watched a little of the Bellarmine game and it reiterates what I'm saying about having the tournament champ play the regular season champ for the auto bid. Bellarmine and their fans knew they couldn't make the NCAAT but Freedom Hall was live (didn't realize that was their homecourt, pretty cool) and the players were playing like they had a bid on the line. So the fact that a bid wasn't at stake, didn't take away from the atmosphere.
If Bellarmine was eligible for the NCAAT, I'd have them play Jax St a few days later at a neutral site, halfway between each location for the auto bid.
